Enes Kanter Throws First Punch In Legal Fight Against Ejection From Sky’s Wintrust Arena After Beef With Natasha Cloud

Legal group AFPI files an FOIA request after Enes Kanter was ejected and banned from Wintrust Arena following a clash with Natasha Cloud.

Former NBA player Enes Kanter’s representative has launched a legal investigation following his ejection and ban from Wintrust Arena after clashing with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

Represented by the America First Policy Institute, Kanter filed a public records request to determine if his constitutional rights were violated by arena security.

Enes Kanter Launches Legal Investigation After Arena Ban and Clash With Natasha Cloud

Kanter was ejected from Wintrust Arena during Sunday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Sky. Sitting right along the baseline, he wore a black shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female,” a choice possibly meant to stir up a reaction.

Following a basket by Cloud late in the third quarter, Indiana called a timeout, during which the Sky guard approached Kanter. The two got into a heated verbal exchange, and after the former NBA center stepped toward the court, arena security intervened and escorted him out of the building.

What began as a heated courtside argument resulting in Kanter’s stadium ban has now escalated into a legal battle. Stepping in on his behalf, the America First Policy Institute launched an inquiry and submitted a six-page request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

They sent the filing directly to the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, the government agency that owns and operates Wintrust Arena.

Leigh Ann O’Neill, the chief legal affairs officer for the group, released a statement defending the 34-year-old. She said:

“Enes Freedom exercised his constitutional right as an American when he attended the WNBA game in Chicago. Today, we launched an investigation, seeking critical documents that will assist in our efforts to ensure that public entities are held accountable when American’s constitutional rights are trampled.”

The goal of the filing is to determine who actually holds authority over security, access, and operations at the Wintrust Arena.

This incident is part of a larger string of social media stunts from the former Boston Celtics man. Recently, both Kanter and former NBA player Royce White announced their intention to enter the 2027 WNBA draft, claiming they identify as women to challenge the league’s rules.

In interviews on media outlets like Fox, Kanter claimed that because of vague policies, he should be allowed to play in the women’s league. Together, Kanter and White have sparked a huge debate across sports media, drawing strong reactions from fans, players, and political commentators.

Although sources within the W eventually stated that neither of the former NBA players is eligible to play in the draft, calling their declarations simple publicity stunts, the drama won’t end until league officials issue clear-cut rules on eligibility.
