The starting lineups for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game are out, and Caitlin Clark will headline the list of starters alongside reigning MVP A’ja Wilson and Paige Bueckers.
However, the player vote for the All-Star Game stirred controversy, and fans were quick to share their frustration.
WNBA Fans Share Dismay as Caitlin Clark Voted 11th Best Guard by Fellow Players
As the starting lineups for the All-Star Games were released on Thursday, it was revealed that Clark was the 11th most voted guard by her fellow players. She came in No. 2 in the fan rank and No. 3 in the media rank behind Olivia Miles and Bueckers.
The player vote did little to assuage fans who have long claimed that Clark was disliked by her WNBA peers.
“So much jealousy,” wrote one fan.

Another claimed that the list proved that many WNBA players were “haters” of Clark.
“I didn’t expect it no other way. Now I understand the term PLAYER HATER. They’re player haters,” they wrote.

Another questioned why Clark and Jackie Young of the Las Vegas Aces were being “disrespected” by their fellow players.
“Why do the players constantly disrespect Caitlin and Jackie Young with these votes. The Jackie [expletive] especially gets me angry,” they wrote.

The WNBA All-Stars are selected on a weighted scale. Fan votes count for 50%, while player and media votes each count for 25%.
Clark’s standing among her fellow WNBA players slipped from ninth last year to 11th this year. However, she is enjoying another stellar season on the court.
The Indiana Fever guard is averaging 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game while shooting 43.0% from the field and 34.4% from the three-point line. Clark is also the third-highest scorer in the league and second behind Alyssa Thomas on the assists charts.
This controversy comes on the heels of many in the sports media questioning the league’s treatment of Clark. Many have called out the officials and the league for failing to protect Clark from overtly physical defending by opposing teams.
Congressman Brendan Boyle of Philadelphia also questioned the way the WNBA was marketing Clark earlier this week, despite the role she has played in increasing the league’s popularity.
