Cameron Brink took a courtside seat as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night. The LA Sparks forward also shared the spotlight with LeBron James in a viral pregame moment.
While the Lakers are currently surviving a brutal Western Conference stretch without key personnel (Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves), the Sparks will rely on Brink’s stabilizing presence as the WNBA enters a chaotic free agency period.

As Brink prepares for her third professional season, the expectations on her are massive. Having spent her offseason completely retooling her game in anticipation of a heavier workload, Brink took a break as she watched James carry a depleted Los Angeles roster against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

“First of all, Happy 30th WNBA season,” the LA Sparks posted, resharing the video.
For the Lakers, James continued to defy basketball mortality on Friday night, putting up 28 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds to completely break down the Phoenix defense. The 41-year-old is averaging 21.0 points and 7.2 assists, knowing that Los Angeles leans heavily on him.
After averaging 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game last season, the 24-year-old has worked tirelessly on her game and fitness during the offseason to prepare for a much larger role in the offense.
Brink tore her ACL in June 2024, bringing an abrupt end to what could have been a highly promising campaign. The injury forced her into a grueling 13-month rehabilitation period.
Speaking to The Sun in March this year, she detailed her ambitions for the season and reflected on her offseason recovery.
“My top goal for this third season is to have a really successful year with the Sparks. I’m really looking forward to being with my teammates and competing with them,” Brink said. “I truly love the Sparks and what they stand for as an organization…”
“My body feels really good, I’ve been feeling the strongest and most confident I have in really long time,” Brink added. “It’s been a really cool journey to see my body in these different phases… I’ve really been able to learn and figure out the routine my body needs to feel good.”
