DiJonai Carrington just can’t stop being front-page news.
While she was ejected against the Indiana Fever for just about clotheslining Sophie Cunningham’s face, it was her post-game reaction that really aggravated the moment.
The aftermath of that play led to plenty of talk and controversy, but it appears Carrington is refusing to let the narrative die, as the Chicago Sky star pulled off another pair of ‘dirty’ plays against the Golden State Valkyries.
WNBA Community Calls For Action Against DiJonai Carrington
Carrington suited up for the Chicago Sky against the Valkyries on Wednesday night with a firestorm of controversies brewing off the court. The game only added fuel to the fire as she was involved in two plays where she took a swipe at the faces of her opponents.
In the third quarter of the game, Tiffany Hayes tried to drive to the rim with Carrington in the paint. Hayes evaded Carrington while going for the layup, but the Sky star lunged to defend, hitting Hayes’s face.
The Valkyries veteran made the layup regardless but immediately went down in the aftermath. Fortunately, there was no injury as the officials reviewed for a possible flagrant on Carrington. The referees eventually deemed it a common foul.
That was not an isolated instance. Carrington also hit Cecilia Zandalasini in the eyes during the first quarter, drawing the ire of fans. This series of fouls, especially after her controversy with Sophie Cunningham, fueled the anger on social media.

In addition, DiJonai Carrington seemed to try to have a Valkyries fan ejected during the game after becoming frustrated by a no-call.
She was also penalized with a technical foul for her reaction to the officiating. Carrington was visibly unhappy with the decision and appeared to direct attention toward a fan in the stands. Apart from the controversies, the results did not improve for Carrington or the Sky. They stumbled to a 71-91 loss with Carrington struggling for just 3 points.
