‘How Bored He Is’ – Caitlin Clark Reveals What Tyrese Haliburton Is Doing To Pass Time During Long Achilles Recovery

Caitlin Clark shares what Tyrese Haliburton has been doing during his Achilles recovery, from Marvel marathons to rewatching Fever games in hyperbaric chambers.

Tyrese Haliburton might be sidelined with an Achilles injury, but he hasn’t drifted far from the court or from basketball itself. The Indiana Pacers star has remained an ever-present supporter of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever, frequently showing up courtside and staying involved with the team.

Lately, though, it seems he’s also finding creative ways to pass the time as he recovers from the injury. Caitlin Clark recently gave a lighthearted glimpse into what that looks like, revealing just how basketball-obsessed Haliburton remains even during his downtime.

How Is Tyrese Haliburton Filling His Time During Achilles Recovery?

During the post-game press conference after the Fever’s latest win, Clark gave fans a peek into what Haliburton has been doing behind the scenes. From Marvel movie marathons to rewatching old Fever games, his downtime has been anything but disconnected from the sport he loves.

Clark painted the picture of a player still deeply invested, even as he’s navigating the slow, frustrating path of post-surgery recovery. The two stars have been sharing time together in hyperbaric chambers, where Haliburton has found an unexpected way to stay entertained.

“I’m at the hyperbaric chamber and I’m in one tube and Tyrese is in the tube next to me,” she said with a smile. “He is like trying to get through the Marvel catalogue, I guess, so you have to ask him about that.”

With full rehab yet to begin, Haliburton has had to get creative with how he fills his time. However, Clark recalled one moment that captured just how basketball-obsessed he remains, even when he’s supposed to be resting.

“Yeah, I think there was a game we lost, that I didn’t even play in probably two or three weeks ago, and I was on a plane flying back and he’s like yeah I’m already re-watching it I’ll text you what I think,” she said. “And I’m like bro, that’s how you know how bored he is.”

Even boredom hasn’t stopped Haliburton from staying locked in on basketball. Clark noted that his love for the game and his commitment to the Fever remains as strong as ever, despite being unable to play himself.

“I mean he loves basketball, I have said this before, even if we are playing on the road, or those couple of games he maybe can’t see in person, he has always got it on,” she said. “Even our game he didn’t really know it was at noon a couple of days ago and he had a conflict, and he made sure he moved the meeting so that he could be here and support us.

You know he certainly loves the Fever and he loves this state and that is very evident… the way he approaches the people in this community.”

Since suffering the injury in the opening minutes of Game 7 against the OKC Thunder, a heartbreaking 103-91 loss in the NBA Finals, Haliburton has continued to show up for the Fever in whatever way he can.

Why Does Haliburton Stay So Connected to the Fever Despite His Injury?

On July 5, during the Fever’s matchup with the Los Angeles Sparks, he was spotted courtside in a medical boot that stretched nearly to his knee. He made another appearance a few days later for the team’s showdown against the Golden State Valkyries, a game that marked Clark’s return after a five-game absence due to a groin injury.

In the Fever’s most recent 99-82 win against the Atlanta Dream on Friday, July 11, Clark tallied 12 points, four rebounds, and nine assists. Haliburton wasn’t in the building, but he still made his presence felt in a way that perfectly captured his generous spirit.

“I got 4 courtside tickets for the Fever game tonight, who wants em?” he posted on X, gifting fans the opportunity to watch live.

In many ways, Haliburton’s actions echo the support Clark showed the Pacers throughout their playoff run earlier this year. Now averaging 16.9 points, 8.6 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, Clark has often praised Haliburton’s energy and presence around the team.

Their bond, rooted in mutual respect and pride for Indiana, has become one of the more endearing storylines across the state’s sports landscape. Both players understand what it means to represent Indiana basketball.

With Clark recently named honorary captain for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game on July 19 in Indianapolis and Haliburton continuing his recovery, the connection between two of Indiana’s brightest stars only seems to be getting stronger, both on and off the floor.
