Is Caitlin Clark Playing Tonight Against Las Vegas Aces? Latest Injury Update on Fever Superstar

Indiana Fever host the Las Vegas Aces without Caitlin Clark after their Commissioner’s Cup triumph, as coach Stephanie White outlines her recovery plan.

The Indiana Fever made headlines by winning the Commissioner’s Cup against the Minnesota Lynx, 74-59, despite missing star guard Caitlin Clark. The Fever, considered underdogs without their top scorer, delivered a strong team performance to defeat Napheesa Collier and the Lynx.

With the Cup behind them, the Fever now face a demanding stretch of eight games over the next two weeks as they look to build momentum heading into the All-Star break. Their next challenge comes at home against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark Out Again as Fever Prepare for Aces

The Fever will be without Caitlin Clark for Thursday’s game against the Aces. The team confirmed her absence in their official injury report, listing her as out with a left groin injury. Damiris Dantas will also miss the game due to national team obligations.

This marks the fourth straight game Clark will miss and her ninth overall absence this season. Earlier in the year, a quad injury kept her sidelined. This is the first time in her WNBA career that the former No. 1 pick from the 2024 draft has missed multiple games in a row. During her rookie season, she played all 40 regular-season games.

Clark started this season strong, averaging 18.2 points and 8.9 assists across nine games. The Fever are 8-8 on the year and have gone 4-4 without her. Her playmaking and scoring have been missed, but the team managed to defeat the Lynx in the Commissioner’s Cup Final without her on the floor.

Head coach Stephanie White provided an update on Clark’s recovery. According to IndyStar, “Making progress and feeling good are two different things,” White said. “We want to make sure that she feels good. We want to make sure that she’s confident. We want to make sure that we’re not putting her in a position to have any setbacks. That’s the that’s the priority right now.”

Looking ahead, the expectation is that Clark will be ready during the upcoming five-game homestand, which begins with the matchup against Las Vegas. After that, the Fever will head out for a three-game road trip.

Thursday’s game between the Aces and Fever tips off at 7 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Fans can stream the game live on Prime Video or the WNBA app with a WNBA League Pass subscription.
