NBA Trainer Urges Fever Star Caitlin Clark To Make 1 Major Change During WNBA Offseason

After missing virtually the entire 2025 season, an NBA trainer has a vision for what Caitlin Clark can do over the summer before her third year.

It is hard to quantify the 2025 WNBA season as anything but a triumphant year for the Indiana Fever. Despite not having their superstar guard and franchise centerpiece, Caitlin Clark, for a majority of the season, the team was able to rally and make a deep playoff run, as they pushed the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, to their absolute limit.

But once the dust had settled, it was clear that a healthy Clark could have elevated the team further.

After a historic rookie season that might be among the very best in WNBA history, Clark was coming into the year with extremely high expectations, as Indiana hoped to take the next step in the league’s hierarchy. However, she was limited to just 13 games played in the season. Now, as the preparation for a new WNBA season begins, the transcendent talent for women’s basketball has received a unique challenge to hone her skills.

The Caitlin Clark Offseason Is Here

Averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists, Clark was every bit as good as advertised following a perspective-altering career for the Iowa Hawkeyes. As she came to the pros after a legendary collegiate career where she rewrote the history books, the production matched the hype.

However, her sophomore campaign was far from perfect, as she regressed in virtually every statistic before a groin injury caused her to miss the entire season after just 13 games under her tally.

But, even without her on the active roster, the Fever, behind spectacular seasons from Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, were able to make it to Game 5 of the Semifinals, where they lost in overtime to the Aces.

Going into next season, though, the addition of a healthy Clark should make them a terrifying contender for the title. But, as part of her recovery and training process, a legendary trainer has a proposition for her.

Chris Brickley is a name that virtually every basketball fan is aware of. Running his own open gym in New York, he has trained with NBA superstars all over the league. And he wants Clark to join their runs over the summer.

“I’m hoping now this offseason that she’ll come to New York and we’ll get some work in. She’s the reason why the WNBA has become so big. I would love to work with her. She’s an amazing talent, she’s changed the game.”

He also went on to reveal that the two had planned on working together last year, but it couldn’t come to fruition due to logistical issues. “We were going to work last summer, but I was going to have to go to Indianapolis. And I respect, when you’re young on your team, you work out at your practice facility.”

With a career that has already been era-defining and record-breaking in every sense of the word, it is a wonder what Clark will look like in her third season. After a step back in her sophomore campaign, she’ll undeniably be raring to go.
