Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were locked in on Sunday’s NBA playoff games, watching their favorite teams and players fight it out on the hardwood. Clark was obsessed with the San Antonio Spurs’ star Victor Wembanyama. Reese had her eyes on the Orlando Magic.
Both took to X with a short but energetic message, just like the performances they were reacting to.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese Enjoy NBA Playoffs
The first round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs delivered on Sunday. Wembanyama put on a show in San Antonio. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic stunned the No. 1 seed in Detroit. Two power-packed performances with two grand WNBA stars with something to say about the games.
Clark posted, “Wemby is ridiculous,” as Wemby dropped 35 points on 13-of-21 shooting, including a dominating 21-point performance in the first half. Spurs had completely dismantled the Portland Trail Blazers 111-98, which CC seemed to enjoy.
It was San Antonio’s first playoff game since 2019, and Wembanyama’s first-ever playoff game. The Indiana Fever sensation, Clark, watched it all unfold in front of her and shared her enthusiasm on social media.

Indeed, it is a bit hard to argue for anyone who’s a fan of Wemby. Portland did try to claw its way back into the game in the third quarter, but Wembanyama and the Spurs crushed those hopes. San Antonio outscored Portland 28-23 in the third quarter and built a 15-point lead heading into the fourth. They held on as the Blazers made one last run. Multiple Spurs stars hit double figures on Sunday.
What probably made Clark more enthusiastic is that CC and Wemby share a lot of mutual admiration and respect. In 2024, the Frenchman called her the most impressive college player he’d ever watched, men’s or women’s. She returned that compliment on Sunday.
As for Angel Reese, her reaction was to a different game altogether. It was the Orlando Magic head-to-head against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons. Orlando won the game 112-101 on the road against a team that finished with 60 wins this regular season.
Paolo Banchero led the efforts with 23 points, while Franz Wagner added 19 points. But Reese’s admiration was probably catered more towards her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., who scored 17 points in the win.
Carter confirmed his relationship with Reese on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back in November, calling her “my girl”. Reese also posted her own three words on X after the buzzer sounded. She wrote, “play the songggggggggg”
An enthusiastic nod to Magic’s viral victory anthem, that’s a remixed version of the franchise’s 1989 theme song. This wasn’t the first time Reese displayed her affection for the Magic; she’s been pretty vocal in her support for the team all season.
As for the NBA teams Clark and Reese are supporting, Orlando heads to Detroit for Game 2 on Wednesday, while the Spurs host Portland on Tuesday. Both Clark and Reese are in the WNBA training camps, CC with the Fever and Reese with the Atlanta Dream, following the trade from Chicago this offseason.
