Sky Superstar Angel Reese Joins Elite Scoring List With NBA Stars Like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tim Duncan

Angel Reese makes WNBA history, joins elite list alongside NBA stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tim Duncan after dominant performances.

Angel Reese just did something no other WNBA player has ever accomplished. After posting 16 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday night, she now shares a stat line with some of the greatest NBA players of all time. Even WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has yet to achieve this rare milestone.

Over her last four games, Reese has been remarkably consistent in scoring, rebounding, and playmaking. Ultimately, she tallied over 75 points, 68 rebounds, and 21 assists, joining an elite scoring club once occupied by legends of the men’s game.

Angel Reese Joins Elite List With NBA Legends

The Sky fell 80–75 to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The loss dropped the Sky’s record to 5–12, while the Lynx improved to a dominant 17–2.

Despite that, Reese continued her impressive individual run, finishing with 16 points and 17 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.

Over a four-game stretch from June 25 to July 7, the two-time WNBA All-Star recorded 75 points, 68 rebounds, and 21 assists. The run makes her the first WNBA player since 2000 to post at least 75 points, 65 rebounds, and 20 assists across a four-game span.

The rare feat puts her alongside NBA legends such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tim Duncan, Nikola Jokić, and Shaquille O’Neal, who have reached comparable milestones during dominant runs.

Given these numbers, it is hard to believe that Reese started the season slowly. But she is now averaging 12.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. She also leads the league in rebounding and has set a WNBA record with five consecutive games of 15 or more rebounds.

However, the Sky’s poor performance continues to overshadow her historic production. While Reese deserves recognition for her individual numbers, some fans questioned her impact on team success.

One user on X remarked, “Still on a losing team with 5 wins 😂😂😂😂 she’s sooooo good.” While another fan wrote, “I don’t wanna hear a word about MVP until they recover their team win total. Their expected team wins pre season was 19.5, now 11.5, regardless of individual performance, if you can’t get your team to the playoffs your not an MVP…”

If the Sky had a better record, Angel Reese could be considered the breakout star of the season. However, with Chicago enduring one of its worst stretches in recent history, many fans are disappointed with the overall performance, prompting some critics to overlook individual brilliance.
