SPOTTED: A’ja Wilson Attends Aces Game With Rumored NBA Boyfriend After Being Placed in Concussion Protocol

A'ja Wilson supports Las Vegas courtside during concussion recovery, joined by rumored boyfriend Bam Adebayo as the team battles without their star player.

There are moments in sports when the line between athlete and fan blurs, and for A’ja Wilson, that moment came on Friday as the Las Vegas Aces faced the Dallas Wings. After sustaining an injury in the previous game, the Aces star was sidelined and placed in the WNBA concussion protocol.

Wilson still showed up courtside to support her teammates, joined by Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo. The appearance quickly went viral online and added to the growing speculation that the two are dating.

On June 11, Wilson suffered a facial injury after colliding with the Los Angeles Sparks’ Dearica Hamby. While the medical staff and team officials focused on her recovery, Wilson showed she was still committed to her team, choosing to support them from the sidelines even if she couldn’t play.

Cameras spotted her in a VIP suite alongside her rumored boyfriend, Bam Adebayo. Wilson wore a grey hoodie and was captured with a playful expression, raising her hands above her head. Adebayo sat next to her in a white T-shirt, sky blue shorts, and a black durag.

Social media lit up with fan reactions to the pair’s presence. One X user shared the clip online and wrote, “A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo at the game.” The fan’s post was reshared by @wnbagotgame as well.

For those unfamiliar, dating rumors between Adebayo and Wilson have intrigued basketball fans since mid-2024. While both stars have remained private about their personal lives, Wilson reportedly confirmed her relationship status during NBA All-Star Weekend in February, according to an exclusive report by PEOPLE.

She said, “My NBA All-Star is not here. [Adebayo] is getting the rest he needs. And that’s the best Valentine gift that I can truly give him, is just the rest.” Although she didn’t mention any names.

In February 2025, the six-time WNBA All-Star was honored by the University of South Carolina as they retired her jersey. She went up the stage to give a speech, where she mentioned Adebayo again, who was present among the audience.

“I wouldn’t be who I am today without the love, support, and sacrifices of so many people. What a blessing to have those most special to me courtside today, especially my favorite Olympian from out of town,” Wilson said with a large smile. Moreover, the pair has made a few public appearances together, without revealing too much about their relationship.

Aces Slams Wings in 88-84 Win

Before being placed in the league’s concussion safety protocols, three-time WNBA MVP Wilson contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four blocks against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Though the Aces missed Wilson’s usual averages of 20.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, they showcased strong bench depth by outscoring Dallas 18 to 8.

Jackie Young led the way with 28 points and hit 3-of-8 three-pointers to secure the victory. Jewell Loyd added 21 points, two assists, and nailed 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, helping turn the tide for Las Vegas. Chelsea Gray contributed 13 points as the team’s third-highest scorer.

Now, the Las Vegas Aces must plan to win against the Phoenix Mercury on June 15, the Minnesota Lynx on June 17, and the Seattle Storm on June 20 without their two-time WNBA champion. For now, Wilson’s return depends on the resolution of her symptoms.
