The Cleveland Browns received a mixed bag of news ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the New York Jets. While veteran receiver Cedric Tillman is trending toward a return, the team’s breakout rookie tight end, Harold Fannin Jr., could miss his first game of the season.
With the offense struggling, the availability of these two players carries significant weight for Cleveland’s chances this week.

How Will the Latest Injury Report Impact the Browns’ Offense?
Both Cedric Tillman and Harold Fannin Jr. are listed as questionable on the Browns’ official Week 10 injury report ahead of their game against the Jets. Tillman, a key wide receiver, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Week 4. In contrast, Fannin has been a durable presence, appearing in every game this season for Cleveland.
The breakout rookie is also dealing with a hamstring issue. However, unlike Tillman’s situation, there is a possibility Fannin could play through his injury without missing time, as he has not officially been ruled out. His status remains one of the biggest question marks heading into the weekend.
Additionally, Carson Schwesinger and Cornelius Lucas are also listed as questionable. The team will definitely be without rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who has officially been ruled out, according to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.
If he is unable to play, Fannin’s absence would be a significant blow to the Cleveland offense, which has relied heavily on him. Through the first eight games of his career, the tight end has recorded 38 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns, even while competing for targets with veteran David Njoku.
In fact, the rookie has outperformed the veteran so far this season. Fannin currently ranks 15th on PFSN’s Impact Rankings for tight ends, while Njoku sits at 34th. Because of this, his availability could be pivotal against the Jets, making his questionable status a major storyline.
On the other hand, the potential good news for the Browns is Tillman’s possible return after a five-week absence. Before his hamstring injury in Week 4, he was becoming a reliable target, totaling ten receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns in his first three games. His early exit in that fourth game marked the beginning of his lengthy time on the sideline.
#UPDATE: On Saturday, the Browns activated Tillman from the injured reserve, and he is expected to play this week.
His return could provide a much-needed boost for a Cleveland offense that has struggled mightily this year, averaging the second-fewest yards and fourth-fewest points per game in the league. While Tillman’s presence could help turn things around, his game-time decision remains the final hurdle he has to clear.
