NFL Game Tonight | What to expect from Cardinals vs. Seahawks?
The Cardinals and Seahawks’ first matchup proved to be a turning point in the season for both teams. The Seahawks came into that game off their bye week a perfect 5-0. That loss kicked off what’s been a 1-3 stretch over their last four games. Now sitting at 6-3, the Seahawks are in the middle of a heated race for the NFC West title and hold the NFC’s last playoff spot.
Russell Wilson had been the early-season MVP, but his play has fallen off a cliff during this stretch. If the Seahawks are going to win this game, they’ll need Wilson to return to form. Wilson has thrown seven interceptions in the team’s previous three losses after throwing just three in his first five games this season. If he can limit the turnovers, and not put the defense in bad positions, then his defense should perform better.
In this week’s Thursday Night Football tonight, we get to see one of the biggest surprises of the 2020 season, the Seahawks defense. This unit has been one of the worst units in the NFL. They have no pass rush, they struggle in pass coverage, and they haven’t held an opponent under 23 points yet this season. The Seahawks’ best way of winning this one is keeping the ball away from the Cardinals’ offense.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are riding a hot streak. They’re 4-1 in their last five, including a miracle, come from behind win against the Bills last Sunday. The Cardinals have been riding their offense all season. Kyler Murray has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in his second year, and DeAndre Hopkins continues to be one of the very best receivers in the league.
Their defense has predictably fallen off a cliff the last few weeks. As the level of competition has increased, their defense has faltered, allowing at least 30 points their last three games. That’s not likely to change against the Seahawks high powered offense.
This is a close matchup, but the Cardinals are riding a hot streak, and the Seahawks have been cold. Always ride the hot hand.
Final Thursday Night Football Week 11 Score Prediction: Cardinals win 34-28
