Who Will Sing the U.S. National Anthem at Buccaneers vs. Panthers?

The Buccaneers will wrap up their regular season this Saturday against the Panthers. On this special occasion, the U.S. national anthem will be performed by none other than Shanda Roberts, the mother of Tampa Bay defensive lineman Elijah Roberts.

Dr. Roberts’ story is both emotional and inspiring. She is a survivor of domestic violence, an experience that, in her own words, nearly cost her life. That painful chapter began when she was just 15 years old and still in high school.

She met a man who initially appeared caring and supportive but eventually became abusive. While it was a challenging period in her life, she not only survived but chose to share her story openly with the world. She now works to help other women facing domestic violence through her organization, Pain2Purpose.

Those dark days are long behind her. Today, Roberts is a proud mother of three and has built a meaningful life dedicated to advocacy and healing. She will have the honor of performing the national anthem while continuing to spread awareness about domestic violence during Tampa Bay’s Inspire Change game, part of the NFL’s ongoing commitment to community impact.
