Robert Kraft has been well known for years for his ownership of the New England Patriots, but he has mostly kept his personal life out of the public eye. Here’s a closer look at his wife, Dana Kraft, and the story behind their relationship, which has become a story ahead of the Patriots taking the field for Super Bowl 60.
Robert Kraft’s First Marriage and Life With Myra Hiatt Kraft
Before he met Dana, Kraft was married to Myra Hiatt Kraft for almost 50 years. Kraft married in 1963, and the two were big Patriots fans. Myra was very active in charity work and later became president of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.
The two of them had had four sons, including Jonathan Kraft, who is now president of the Patriots and The Kraft Group. After fighting ovarian cancer for years, Myra died in 2011, which caused a huge dent in Robert Kraft’s life. For years, he said he never thought he would marry again and called that time one of the hardest in his life.
Who is Dana Kraft?
Dana, whose maiden name is Dana Blumberg, is a skilled ophthalmologist with a strong medical background. She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and later became board-certified in ophthalmology.
In addition, she also worked as an associate professor of ophthalmology at Columbia University. Even with her career success and marriage to one of the wealthiest sports figures in the United States, she has kept her life very private, avoiding social media and keeping it as private as possible.
The couple has never said exactly how they met, but Kraft and Dana were first seen together in 2017. They kept their relationship quiet for years and only showed up together at big events. This included attending charity galas together or large Patriots events. Their first public appearance together was in 2019 at the French Open, where they were seen together in Paris.
Kraft and Dana became engaged in early 2022, though even that news came as a surprise to several people. Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger announced the engagement during an amfAR charity event, catching many attendees off guard.

Later in that year, in New York City, that couple hosted their wedding, which guests thought was just a normal party. Instead, it turned out to be their wedding with friends and celebrities in attendance, only realizing what was happening when Dana appeared in a wedding dress, and the couple was introduced as husband and wife.
One guest told PEOPLE, “Most of the people didn’t know it was a wedding celebration. We thought it was a party and then when we went upstairs… and Robert and Dana came out.”
Since getting married, Kraft and Dana have spent a lot of time working on charity efforts, including initiatives connected to the Patriots organization, such as funding animal adoption events.
Now, the two will watch the Patriots take the stage ahead of Super Bowl 60 when they face off with the Seattle Seahawks in Santa Clara.
