Treylon Burks just showed the world what he can do. On Sunday Night Football, Burks pulled off one of the best catches of the NFL season with a wild one-handed grab over Riley Moss.
The catch gave the Commanders a lead in the third quarter against the tough Denver Broncos defense. Burks didn’t pan out with the Titans and found his way to the Commanders.
Treylon Burks’ NFL Journey
Burks was signed to the Washington practice squad in October. He was eventually elevated to the Commanders’ 53-man roster due to injuries in the receiver room.
Tonight, he showed what he could do and why he was selected in the first round with his spectacular touchdown catch, his first in three years.

Burks played his college ball at Arkansas and was the Titans’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played for the Titans from 2022 to 2024, recording 53 receptions for 599 yards and one touchdown.
Burks’ best campaign was his rookie season, when he had 33 catches for 444 yards and one TD catch. He was released by the Titans in 2025, and then he signed with the Commanders.
Burks had just returned from having surgery on his middle finger for a fracture. Two weeks later, he made a catch with the same finger that he had surgically repaired. The 25-year-old wideout has struggled to stay healthy throughout his NFL career. In each of his first two seasons in Tennessee, he appeared in 11 games.
Before the injury in 2025, Burks appeared in two games for the Commanders. In his first game, he had only one catch, but in his second game, Burks had three catches for 58 yards.
On Sunday Night Football, he reintroduced himself to the NFL world with his acrobatic snag. The touchdown catch was his only reception of the day and was for only five yards. But it was a key play that gave Washington the lead at the time.
Burks is looking to be a key complement to the Commanders’ star receivers, Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr., and become a valuable piece to keep around.
The Commanders have only three wins this season, but they hold the 11th-ranked offense in the league according to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric. The offense isn’t producing at a high level, but it is holding its own against the nine-win Broncos, with Burks’ touchdown proving to be critical for Washington.
