What Happened To Texans RB Woody Marks?

Marks, with the Texans right at the Cardinals’ goal line, took a fumbled snap and rolled into the end zone for Houston’s second touchdown of the game.

But the rookie running back had to leave the game once again and was sent to the Texans’ blue tent.

He limped off the field and was being attended to by Texans medical personnel. Earlier in Sunday’s game, Marks also left the field briefly but returned for the Texans as they moved down the field.

So far on Sunday, Mark has seven carries for 30 yards and one touchdown. In the season entering the Cardinals’ game, the rookie who played his college ball at USC has 160 carries for 554 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Marks has an impact score of 68.4 and grades out to a D+. Marks is the top back on Sunday as fellow running back Nick Chubb is not available.

Marks had assumed the lead role in this backfield before Chubb (ribs) got banged up last week and sat this week. He scored on a goofy play earlier in this game, one that was initially called a fumble recovery, but it’s still fantasy points all the same.

Marks profiles as a low-end RB2 moving forward if healthy, and if not, there isn’t a backup plan that should have your interest behind a subpar offensive line.

Behind Stroud and the Texans’ offense, the team has worked its way back into the NFL postseason discussion. They have been on a roll, coming off an impressive win against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night.

Texans running back Jahwar Jordan was brought up from the team’s practice squad before Sunday’s game. Should Mark not be able to return in an effective way, look for Jordan to get a ton of carries entering the second half.
