Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had a very effective first half in leading the Bears over the Cleveland Browns 14-3 in the third quarter at bitterly cold Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday.
Williams has been able to lead the Bears’ offense down the field, but he looked hurt just before halftime.
What’s Happened To Bears QB Caleb Williams?
In the first half, Williams was 12-of-18 passing for 190 yards and one touchdown against the Browns’ defense.
But just before halftime, Williams limped off the field. He started walking off the Soldier Field turf, but stopped on the way. He bent down, tried to see what was happening with one of his legs, and then hobbled toward the Bears’ locker room.

At that point, it was not clear if Williams would be able to come out and start in the second half. Williams was probably getting checked out by the Bears’ medical personnel before coming out to try and lead Chicago to another win. But he came back out for the second half and was leading the Bears downfield.
Williams has been the most predictable QB in fantasy. Give him a great matchup, and he smashes. Give him a tough matchup, and he’s best left on the bench.

The Bears close the season out against the Packers and 49ers. Neither matchup is particularly appealing, which keeps Williams off the fantasy radar.
The bigger concern is the Bears’ pass catchers. Luther Burden III and DJ Moore are both off to strong starts this week and looking like solid WR3s with Rome Odunze out. Tyson Bagent is one of the more competent backups in the league, but he’s not healthy either. Hopefully, Williams is able to return.
According to the PFSN NFL QB Impact metrics, Williams has an impact score of 75.0 and grades out to a C. For the season entering Sunday’s game, he has 2,908 yards passing with 19 touchdown passes and six interceptions. Williams, though, is not getting a lot of love from Bears fans online as they watch the Bears try and beat the Browns.
On a cold day in Chicago, Williams is doing his best to make sure the Bears stay right in the middle of the NFC postseason picture.
