Davante Adams signed a two-year, $44 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams before the start of the season. The star receiver has already fulfilled his end of the bargain by scoring 14 touchdowns in 14 games this season. However, he will not play for the Rams tonight against the Atlanta Falcons.
Davante Adams Injury Update
Adams suffered a hamstring injury in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions. He finished that game with four receptions for 71 yards on nine targets.
The 33-year-old wideout then did not play in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks due to his injury, and will be unavailable on Monday Night Football in Week 17.
NFL insider Jeremy Fowler recently reported that Adams is likely to miss the rest of the regular season to be ready for the start of the playoffs. “A team source told me that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Adams miss Week 18 vs. Arizona, another game the Rams can win without their star receiver,” Fowler wrote.
“The goal is to ensure Adams is 100 percent for the first week of the playoffs. Technically, he’s week-to-week with an injury that hampered him weeks before he aggravated it vs. Detroit on Dec. 14.”
If that’s the end of Adams’ first regular season with the Rams, then he finishes the campaign with 60 receptions for 789 yards and 14 touchdowns, on 114 targets, averaging 13.2 yards per reception.

According to PFSN’s WR Impact metric, the Rams star is the 53rd-ranked receiver in the league this season, with an impact score of 74.2. In comparison, Adams’ teammate, Puka Nacua, is ranked as the best receiver in the league this year with an impact score of 99.5.
The Rams have already clinched a playoff spot, but following the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Chicago Bears last night, they can no longer win the division. According to PFSN’s Playoff Predictor, Los Angeles has a 57.70% chance of finishing as the fifth seed in the NFC and a 42.30% chance of finishing as the sixth seed. As a result, they will either face the Philadelphia Eagles or the winner of the NFC South in the Wild Card round.
Los Angeles Rams’ Stats and Insights for Week 17
QB: Matthew Stafford has thrown at least two touchdowns in 13 of 15 games this season. That’s the second most through 15 games in NFL history (12 times). There have been four times a quarterback has thrown for multiple touchdowns in 14 of 15 games.
Offense: Puka Nacua has 420 receiving yards over the last three games. The 420 yards would rank 52nd on the season leaderboard for wide receivers. Nacua led the NFL in Week 16 with a 94.8 WRi (A) against the Rams.
Defense:Â The Rams have allowed 30.0 points per game over the last four games. During their six-game winning streak, Los Angeles allowed 12.0 points per game (best in the NFL during that span).
Fantasy: With no Davante Adams, Puka Nacua became the first wide receiver this season to crest 200 yards receiving in a single game. He saw 16 targets. Second on the team? Konata Mumphield with eight.
