Just like that, a quarter of the NFL season has come and gone. Here at Pro Football Network, our motto is “The NFL is fast, but PFN is faster”. The NFL is proving just how fast it is, and with that, we look ahead to our Week 5 NFL picks. Last week was undeniably difficult, with the team posting its first losing effort of the year. We suffered some bad beats, but continue to move forward. Taking a look at the Week 5 NFL spreads, there were quite a few spots that the team liked. We have a big bounce-back card ahead of us, and it all starts with our signature Tommy Teaser!

Through seven weeks of the NFL season, the PFN betting group has over $100 of profit (4 units) despite the industry in a 2019 funk. Week 5 NFL picks: Tommy Teaser (+6.5 points)

Bears +1 & UNDER 47 (-130) risk $26 to win $20

I bet against Chicago last weekend and knew I was doomed the moment Mitchell Trubisky went out in a sling. The Bears offense seems to run smoother under career game manager Chase Daniel. The “Monsters of the Midway” defensive unit has been dominant this season, allowing just 11 points per game, as referenced in Ben Rolfe’s weekly totals report.

Meanwhile, the Oakland Raiders have scored a combined 11 points in their last two trips to London. Every single trend points towards the Bears and the under in this game. By teasing the total and the side, I’m just giving myself an added cushion. The cushion might come in handy if the Raiders keep it closer than expected, coming off a big win in Indianapolis last weekend. Tease the Raiders and the under here and maybe even sprinkle some candy on the two in a parlay if you’re feeling froggy.

Vikings, Patriots, and Eagles (-118) risk $40 to win $33.80

This is a three-team moneyline parlay that primarily comes down to one game. The Patriots might not cover the sixteen points against Washington in the nation’s capital, but they certainly aren’t losing to Colt McCoy outright. The same can be said for the Eagles at home against a Jets team without their starting quarterback Sam Darnold. The Eagles are in fact, my Week 5 survivor play as well.

This leads us to the enigma, also known as the Minnesota Vikings. Kirk Cousins and company have looked great at home, but hideous against division rivals on the road. The Vikings wide receiver duo of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, widely considered the most talented in the league, have voiced some serious concerns over their QB’s play so far. Diggs’ status for Sunday is up in the air amidst lingering trade rumors, but if he plays, I think he might be due for a breakout.

Meanwhile, Danny Dimes is undefeated as Giants starting QB, quickly transitioning from the sacrificial lamb on draft night to King of New York. However, the Minnesota defense is far superior to anything Daniel Jones has seen up until this point. The Vikings are 8-1 straight up in their last nine games as a favorite. If they jump ahead early, expect a heavy dose of Dalvin Cook in the Meadowlands. The Giants are 1-6 straight up in their previous seven contests as a home underdog. I truly can’t see a third consecutive Giants victory in this spot minus Saquon Barkley
