Week 15 NFL Power Rankings: Patriots free-falling, Titans rising fast

After a week in the NFL which included the game of the season and the struggles of a powerhouse, how do the NFL Week 15 Power Rankings shape up?

17. Oakland Raiders (6-7, Last Week: 16)

Week 14 Result: Lost to Tennessee, 42-21

Another week, another embarrassing loss for the Oakland Raiders, who, in a matter of three weeks, went from potentially challenging for the AFC West title to just about out of the playoffs. But in all honesty, this is still a better season than anyone could have expected from the Raiders. You won’t find too many people that thought Oakland would even reach six wins this season. So while it seems depressing now, know that brighter times are ahead for the Raiders. They’ll just be happening in Las Vegas, not Oakland.

18. Cleveland Browns (6-7, Last Week: 18)

Week 14 Result: Defeated Cincinnati, 27-19

Another week where the Browns get a win and it’s overshadowed by something off the field. This time, it’s a mix of the Odell Beckham rumors of wanting out, and the press conference of Baker Mayfield and the questions regarding Beckham. Nonetheless, a good showing for the Browns after all the news before the game.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7, Last Week: 20)

Week 14 Result: Defeated Indianapolis, 38-35

A team that’s quietly putting together a nice finish to their season? How about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? They’ve won three straight after a gutsy performance and a late score to win against the Colts. They’re out of the playoffs and have some questions this offseason, namely with Jameis Winston, but this is the best we’ve seen the Buccaneers in a long time.

20. Los Angeles Chargers (5-8, Last Week: 21)

Week 14 Result: Defeated Jacksonville, 45-10

Even though it was the Jaguars, this is more like the Chargers team we expected before all the injuries happened. A great day on offense and a swarming defense. That will have to continue if they want a shot to beat the Vikings in Week 15.

21. Philadelphia Eagles (6-7, Last Week: 22)

Week 14 Result: Defeated New York Giants, 23-17 (OT)

It certainly wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but the Eagles, with two available wide receivers most of the game and down to one in overtime, as well as losing Lane Johnson, rallied from down 17-3 at halftime to beat the Giants. This victory pulls them to a tie with the Cowboys in the NFC East. Carson Wentz rallied the troops and the Eagles pulled off quite the surprising win, considering how bad they looked in the first half. Now the Eagles are actually in the position to win the division in Week 16, if they win against the Redskins and the Cowboys lose to the Rams Sunday. The Eagles would then need to get revenge on Dallas in Week 16.

22. Atlanta Falcons (4-9, Last Week: 23)

Week 14 Result: Defeated Carolina, 40-20

The Falcons can at least take away from the 2019 season how dominant they were against the Panthers. They outscored Carolina 69-23 in the two meetings and made Carolina’s offense look silly yet again. You can’t say they aren’t fighting hard for Dan Quinn, who is still likely coaching his final games with the Falcons. At least he is going down swinging.

23. Carolina Panthers (5-8, Last Week: 19)

Week 14 Result: Lost to Atlanta, 40-20

It’s rock bottom in Carolina. They’ve now lost five straight, and they just seemed to give up in the second half. The score was 13-10 at halftime, and they lost the second half 27-7. Carolina is a mess and is headed for a long offseason full of questions marks. First, they entertain Russell Wilson and the Seahawks next week, but Carolina is really ready for this season to end.

24. Denver Broncos (5-8, Last Week: 24)

Week 14 Result: Defeated Houston, 38-24

Drew Lock has had himself a nice two-game stretch to begin his NFL career, as he carried the Broncos’ offense to an impressive showing in Houston. Denver made the Texans look silly on both sides of the ball and came away with the big upset in Houston.
