The New England Patriots and New York Giants decided to take a page out of the WWE on “Monday Night Football,” and rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was on the receiving end.
As the Patriots jumped out to a 10-0 lead, Dart was trying to lead the Giants back down the field. When he decided to run out of the pocket, though, things got interesting.
What Happened Between Giants, Patriots On the Field?
Dart headed toward the sidelines to avoid being hit. But that didn’t work out as a Patriots player rocked Dart hard, sending Giants and Patriots players into a scuffle.
When looking at the video, Dart appeared to have space ahead of him downfield. This is his first game back after being out with concussion symptoms.

As soon as the Patriots’ player delivered the hit, the Giants players immediately rushed over to the sidelines. New York’s offensive line immediately interacted not only with Patriots defenders but also with other players.
To add insult to injury, on the Patriots’ ensuing drive downfield, New England quarterback Drake Maye threw a touchdown pass to up the lead to 17-0. It appears that it’s going to be a long night for the 2-10 Giants.

According to the PFSN NFL QB Impact metrics, Dart has an impact score of 79.7 and grades out to a C+. He took over the starting quarterback job from Russell Wilson, who was a healthy scratch for Monday night’s game for the first time in his career. Dart has started seven games this season, going 2-5 in them.
Dart has completed 62.7% of his passes this season for 1,417 passing yards, 10 touchdown passes, and three interceptions. The former Ole Miss quarterback has brought a new energy to the Giants’ offense, along with rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who is out for the season with an injury.
What about Maye? According to the PFSN NFL QB Impact metrics, Maye has an impact score of 88.1 and grades out to a B+.
Will the Giants and Patriots find themselves trading punches again on Monday night? There’s still plenty of time to see if it happens. But Giants coaches and fans probably hope that Dart stays safe while leading the New York offense down the field.
