The Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Tyreek Hill on Monday, ending a four-year partnership that helped define one of the league’s most explosive offenses. The move was part of a broader roster reset that also included the releases of veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb, guard James Daniels, and wide receiver Nick Westbrook‑Ikhine as Miami works to right its books and prepare for what is expected to be a multi-year rebuild.

Tyreek Hill Thanks Miami and Addresses Questions About His Future

Hours after the decisions became public, Hill addressed fans directly with an emotional Instagram message that also pushed back on speculation about retirement.

Hill thanked the organization, teammates, and fans for what he called an unforgettable stretch of his career. He wrote that Miami embraced him from the moment he arrived, and the support he felt throughout the city and at Hard Rock Stadium made the experience deeply meaningful.

“From the bottom of my heart, Thank You To the entire @miamidolphins organization, my teammates, the staff, and most importantly Fins Nation, for an unforgettable 4 years,” Hill said. He added that Miami became home and that the love he felt from fans was real.

Hill also expressed gratitude to teammates past and present, saying he appreciated the wins, losses, memories, and sacrifices shared in the locker room. He credited Dolphins coaches for challenging him and helping him grow, noting that the chapter taught him leadership, resilience, and gratitude.

The message arrived as analysts debated what Hill’s next step might be.

Although he did not run enough routes to qualify for PFSN’s official WR Impact leaderboard this season, he finished the 2024 season with a 78.9 PFSN NFL WR Impact score, ranking 35th among receivers. Combined with his long-term recovery from injury, those factors suggest expectations should be more measured as he enters the next phase of his career.

Hill, however, made it clear that he is not considering retirement.

“The love I have for this game is unexplainable,” he wrote. “And right now, this offseason, for the first time ever, The Cheetah is all the way turned up and locked in. Focused. The Cheetah don’t slow down. Ever.”

He closed by telling fans to “wait on it,” promising he will return “born again” and offering “major love to the 305.” He said the support he felt in Miami will stay with him as he works toward the next chapter of his career.
