After suffering several consecutive losses earlier in the season, the New Orleans Saints have turned things around by putting together a four-game winning streak with an impressive win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 17. After quarterback Tyler Shough led his team to another victory, an NFL analyst took time to heap praise on him.
Jacob Infante Praises Tyler Shough for Saints’ Fourth Consecutive Win
The Saints had a shameful start to the season, losing eight of their first nine games. However, they have significantly improved since then, going 5–3 in their previous eight games.
Their recent 34–26 win over the Titans marked their fourth straight victory. Reflecting on the Week 17 result, NFL analyst Jacob Infante of PFSN didn’t shy away from praising the team and their leader, Shough, while writing the NFL Power Rankings ahead of Week 18.
“Look out, NFL. Tyler Shough has arrived. After a disastrous start to the season, the New Orleans Saints are winners of their last four games, bumping their record up to 6-10 with their explosive 34-26 victory over the Titans on Sunday,” Infante wrote.
New Orleans, no doubt, has had a rough season overall, yet their quarterback has been impressive, earning a 74.5 score on PFSN’s QB Impact.
Even in the recent victory, Shough delivered a strong performance, throwing for 333 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Highlighting those numbers, Infante continued to appreciate Shough for his consistent play in recent weeks.
“Sure, the Saints haven’t been facing a murderer’s row of opponents in recent weeks,” Infante added. “That said, Shough has looked surgical in throwing the ball, and that continued in Week 17. He threw for 333 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a stellar 142.7 passer rating against Tennessee.”
Saints Set To Face Atlanta Falcons in Week 18
Before wrapping up their campaign, New Orleans is set to face the Atlanta Falcons in a Week 18 matchup on Sunday, Jan. 4, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Fans can tune in to FOX at noon CT/1 p.m. ET to catch the action live.
The Saints currently sit at the bottom of the NFC South with a 6–10 record, and the Falcons are one spot above them at 7–9. Both teams had rough starts to the season, but appear to have found some momentum as the regular-season finale approaches. While the Saints bring a four-game winning streak into the matchup, the Falcons will put their three-game winning streak on the line.
Although both Atlanta and New Orleans are out of the playoff race, the game still carries importance, as the teams will be battling for the eighth and ninth overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
