Tyler Lockett Free-Agency Landing Spots: 3 NFL Teams Who Should Target the 3-Time All-Pro

After a rough start 2025, Tennessee Titans WR Tyler Lockett asked for and was granted his release, here's some teams who should target the veteran.

Over the offseason, wide receiver Tyler Lockett saw himself facing free agency for the first time in his career as the Seattle Seahawks parted ways with him and traded other big name wide receiver DK Metcalf. When searching for a new home, the eleven-year wideout settled with the Tennessee Titans where he signed a one-year, $4 million deal with a ma value of $6 million in incentives.

However, after a 1-6 start to the season and not getting used all that much, Lockett asked for and was granted his release from the Titans roster. Here’s three teams that should bring the veteran on to the roster.

3 Teams Who Should Target Former Tennesee Titans WR Tyler Lockett

Tennessee invesiting in a veteran presence at wide receiver like Lockett made sense as they were likely using the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select a quarterback. They did, taking Cam Ward from the Miami Hurricanes as the next face of their franchise.

There have been growing pains on the offense, however the rookie has hardly gotten the veteran involved as Lockett has just ten recpetions on 21 targets for 70 yards. On Monday, October 20, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he asked for and received his release from the Tennessee Titans.

Lockett should be free to sign with another team on Wednesday after 4 p.m. ET. It’s clear he still has something left in the tank and could be a valuable addition for quite a few teams needing an offensive boost, let’s take a look at some options.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are having a nightmare 2025 campaign. Despite high expectations coming into the season, the Ravens have gotten out to a 1-5 start and are fourth in the AFC North. Injuries have greatly hampered Baltimore’s success with quarteback Lamar Jackson missing two games and Derrick Henry and the offense struggling. According to PFSN’s Offensive Impact rating (OFFi), the Ravens rank 26th in the NFL with a rating of 68.4.

Wide receiver Zay Flowers has looked good but could use some help in the secondary to take some eyes off the third-year wideout. Lockett could easily come in and provide a boost for the Ravens offense, giving Jackson another solid presence in the passing game as they try to turn things around in 2025.

Buffalo Bills

After a hot start to the season, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have cooled off with back-to-back losses to the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. WR Khalil Shakir continues to be a solid presence in the slot for Allen, but both Keon Coleman and offseason addition Joshua Palmer have lacked consistency.

The Bills ask a lot of Allen and running back James Cook in the rushing and passing attacks. Bringing in Lockett gives Allen what he’s lacked since the departure of Diggs, experience in the receiver room as Lockett’s NFL experience matches Shakir, Coleman, and Palmer’s combined. Giving Allen another solid pair of hands who can also take the top off the defense could be great for the Bills offense.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are looking to keep their winning streak alive against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 7, after losing the first three games of the season, to bring their record back to .500. While the Texans defense has been on fire, the offense has lacked punch at times this season.

While the crux of the issue seems to be the quality of the offensive line, no one outside of Nico Collins has really stood out in the passing game. Houston is still waiting for Tank Dell to return from his devastating knee injury he suffered last season. However, Christian Kirk is now having hamstring issues, leaving Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, and Braxton Berrios behind Collins on the depth chart.

While the Texans won’t be able to bring him in until wednesday evening, Lockett could be a solid signing given the depth chart and offensive issues in Houston. The Texans sit right in the middle of the pack in the NFL this season with an OFFi of 74.2, 18th in the league.
