The 2024 NFL season wasn’t an ideal one for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, who was sidelined for seven games. But the 2021 first-round pick celebrated one of the biggest joys of his life off the field, as he became a father for the first time at the end of the regular season.
Lawrence and his wife Marissa, are cherishing their first few months of parenthood and are celebrating festivities with their little one for the first time.

Lawrence and Marissa tied the knot in April 2021 after dating for nearly five years. The quarterback was the No. 1 overall selection by Jacksonville only a couple of weeks later.
On June 27, 2024, just days after Lawrence signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension, he and Marissa announced that they were expecting their first child, who was born on January 4, 2025.
The Lawrence couple’s daughter, Shae, turned six months old on July 4. Marissa posted a carousel of pictures showing the double celebrations with a beautiful caption.
“4th of July fun + my babygirl turning 6 months oldđź’™,” she wrote.
“I’m so grateful for our time together and our families getting to be around to watch shae bug grow up. She is so fun and full of life- our happy girl! She loves to play and crawl and giggle. She is so smart and silly. I’m so proud of her and love getting to watch her grow and learn every day. She changes the meaning of life and love! I’m so grateful God made me her mommy! Keep going babydoll- mommy and daddy love you!”

The carousel included the snaps of Lawrence and his wife smiling ear to ear with Shae in their arms. The Jaguars’ QB’s daughter stole the show with her ‘My first 4th of July’ t-shirt and her tiny USA flag-themed hat.
The album had multiple solo photos of Shae alongside some group pictures of dinner with family and friends. Lawrence’s daughter in those cute outfits was the most adorable thing about the carousel.
Marissa Mowry started dating Lawrence at Cartersville High School in Georgia in 2016. While he excelled at Clemson University, she continued her education at nearby Anderson University, just a half-hour drive away.
Like Lawrence, Marissa was a collegiate athlete. She played women’s soccer for the Anderson University Trojans and notably played nine games during her sophomore season in 2018. According to her player profile, she majored in public relations.
Marissa and Trevor got engaged in July 2020 when he proposed on Clemson’s football field. Her acceptance marked yet another victory for him in Memorial Stadium, famously known as “Death Valley.”
Lawrence will hope to bounce back from arguably the worst year of his career before the injury in 2024. He finished 31st on PFSN’s QB+ metric, behind players like Mason Rudolph and Mac Jones. Shae might be the motivation the star QB needed to take his game to the next level.
