Trevor Lawrence Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

After a breakout sophomore season, what does Trevor Lawrence's future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Trevor Lawrence.

Trevor Lawrence’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

Since arriving at Clemson, Lawrence has been the chosen one. He was a lock to be the first overall pick for two years before actually being drafted No. 1. Considered the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, Lawrence’s expectations were sky-high.

Then, he went and posted one of the worst rookie seasons for a first-round quarterback in recent memory. Lawrence led the league in interceptions while putting together an eight-week stretch where he threw just a single touchdown pass. He also happened to be playing for the worst head coach in NFL history.

As a result, Lawrence was largely given a mulligan for his rookie season. At the same time, it wasn’t fair to blame all of Lawrence’s issues on Urban Meyer. His dynasty value undoubtedly took a hit.

Fortunately, Lawrence put every conceivable concern to rest in 2022. He averaged 17.9 fantasy points per game, finishing as the overall QB12. His completion percentage jumped from an untenable 59.6% to a very solid 66.3%.

Lawrence basically cut his interception total in half while doubling his TD total. He threw 25 scores against eight interceptions and added five more touchdowns on the ground.

Lawrence is now 23 years old and entering his third season. He has a former Super Bowl-winning head coach in Doug Pederson — a guy who has proven success and is a forward thinker. The Jaguars won a playoff game in a season in which they were expected to merely not be the worst team in football.

Trevor Lawrence’s Fantasy Ranking

What Lawrence did in 2022 feels like his floor going forward. He should take another step forward in 2023, continuing to post QB1 numbers every year for the next decade plus.

Given the state of the QB position in the NFL, there are far fewer quarterbacks in dynasty I’d rather have than Lawrence than there are in redraft — for 2023 specifically.

We currently have Lawrence at QB7 (No. 13 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. There is a legitimate argument to be made for Lawrence as high as QB5.

If he merely repeats his 2022 season going forward, Lawrence won’t be anything special in fantasy. He needs to ascend to the ranks of the elite and show an ability to average over 20 ppg. Fortunately, we’ve seen that high ceiling from Lawrence already.

This past season, Lawrence had six games over 20 fantasy points. Five of them saw him score at least 25. Those are elite QB1 numbers — performances that win fantasy matchups. Given Lawrence’s age, talent profile, and continually improving team situation, he is a coveted fantasy asset for any dynasty manager and well worth a top pick in dynasty startup drafts.
