TreVeyon Henderson Injury Update: What Happened to the Patriots RB, and Will He Return vs. Texans?

TreVeyon Henderson suffered an injury against the Houston Texans. Here is the latest update on the status of the Patriots rookie.

The Houston Texans started the game well against the New England Patriots with immense help from their defense and held the advantage in the first half until a New England pick-six. The Patriots have to find an answer to sustain drives, but if Houston keeps turning it over, they’ll be in business. The biggest loss for New England right now is that TreVeyon Henderson came off with an apparent injury.

What Happened to TreVeyon Henderson?

Henderson took a carry in the second quarter and went to the ground hard. He came off the field jogging, but not without a lot of pain.

He was examined on the sideline and returned to the game on the ensuing drive. Henderson has become more involved in the offense as the season progressed.

After being stuck behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson to start the season, some unfortunate injuries to these running backs gave Henderson the chance to shine, and he took it.

Henderson is still splitting time with Stevenson, and the latter’s great play recently has favored him in the pecking order. But the rookie is still an important piece and a home run threat to break a run for a long gain. He ranks 17th in PFSN’s RB Impact Metric with an impact score of 66.9.

Stevenson picked up an injury against Houston, too. He hasn’t returned to the game, and Henderson is going to be their main running back while the veteran nurses his eye injury. The Patriots have their work cut out for them against this Texans defense. They are no joke and are not going to give up any easy plays.

The Patriots are in a much better position after the Texans kept turning the ball over and are losing the field position battle. With three minutes left in the first half, being up two scores is a great place to be. They’ll have to prevent the Texans from doubling up before the half, and they’ll be in business.

The recipe is simple. The offense cannot turn the ball over; the defense needs to keep playing the way they’ve been, and avoiding any special teams blunders should have the Patriots back in the AFC Championship game.
