Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding brought together big names from sports and entertainment, making the guest list almost as interesting as the ceremony itself. The couple kept the July 3 celebration private, turning Madison Square Garden into a phone-free, garden-themed setting for family, friends, and famous guests.
For Kelce, however, one person involved in the ceremony received a special mention when he looked back on the night.
Travis Kelce Gives Adam Sandler Special Praise for Wedding Role
Among the NFL stars, celebrities, and close friends who attended Kelce and Swift’s wedding, Adam Sandler had a role that went far beyond being a guest.
The actor officiated the ceremony after getting ordained in New York, and Kelce made it clear on the “New Heights” podcast that Sandler’s contribution left a lasting impression.
“It was insane,” Kelce said. “It’s a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night. It was just so magical, man, and I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did.”

The Chiefs’ tight end said the celebration seemed to pass almost instantly before turning his focus to the person who helped make the ceremony possible.
“I can’t say thank you to everyone without giving a special thank you to the Adam Sandler,” Kelce added. “He has been just the (expletive) best person on this planet. For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor, and the way he did it in the very, you know, Sandman style, giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment, knowing that it was the biggest night of both of our lives. It was absolutely insane.”
The connection between Kelce and Sandler grew while they worked together on Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2, where Kelce had a cameo. Sandler also has a connection to Swift, with his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, being major Swift fans and having welcomed Swift into their orbit through her concerts.

Sandler’s approach also matched what the couple wanted from the evening. Kelce added, “We also wanted to make sure that everybody left there having some fun.”
With Jason Kelce serving as best man and stars such as Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Rob Gronkowski among the guests, the wedding had no shortage of recognizable names.
Still, Kelce’s own words made Sandler’s role one of the most memorable parts of the celebration.
