The Maxx Crosby era nearly came to an end for the Las Vegas Raiders, until it didn’t. Traded to the Baltimore Ravens, a failed physical reversed that transaction, and the Ravens chose to move forward with Trey Hendrickson instead.
However, that has brought Crosby back to square one, with no other destination in sight. The reveal of the top 100 players in the NFL, though, allowed fans to get an insight into where the superstar edge rusher stood.
And they believe the Philadelphia Eagles are the right spot for him.
Maxx Crosby Is the Boost the Eagles Need
Over the course of the offseason, the league releases its annual list of the top 100 players as voted by the athletes themselves. At number 29, defensive tackle Jalen Carter rose 14 spots from his ranking at number 43 last year.
The Eagles’ superstar received the nod of approval from a plethora of players. However, for eagle-eyed fans, the comments from Crosby were hard to ignore. Going back to his draft process, the five-time Pro Bowler revealed his push for the Raiders to draft Carter.
Crosby said Carter was “the guy that I was begging and pleading” for the Raiders to bring on board.
“Coach Marinelli, he was calling me every day. Make sure they’re getting Jalen. Call them. Let them know. Get him in the building. Sit down with him. And I did all those things because Marinelli believed in him that much. And I was able to sit and watch the film.”

Continuing in his appreciation, Crosby added, “He’s just one of those guys that is so disruptive. It’s not even technique. It’s the fact that his will to destroy the dude in front of him is scary. I respect the hell out of him. He’s got a different type of strength and violence that’s terrifying for any interior lineman trying to stop him.”
A two-time national champion and a Super Bowl champion, Carter is a winner at every level. He’s also made it to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons, while ranking at number 3 and number 12 on PFSN’s DT Impact Metrics in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
Given the talent and game-wrecking presence at hand, Philadelphia chose to extend him to a four-year deal worth $152 million. Thomas R. Peterson believes the clip of his ranking was ample evidence to justify that move.
“If you had any questions about why Eagles extended Jalen Carter, just watch this.” However, he also couldn’t help but notice the adoration from Crosby. “Also: Maxx Crosby really, really, REALLY wants to play with Carter. #Eagles”

He wasn’t the only one to notice the love from Crosby, with one fan immediately claiming, “Maxx really wants to play with bro.” Another fan outright requested, “I’ve heard enough. Go trade for Maxx so he can play with his favorite player.”
One fan believed it might essentially be a done deal, especially with the rumours circulating about Crosby. As a result, he prophesied, “Remember Maxx Crosby gushing here about Jalen Carter later this year around trade deadline time.”
It remains to be seen if the Eagles will pursue such a blockbuster trade. But after an offseason of change, with the departure of A.J. Brown as the biggest piece, the team will be hoping to add more talent to the roster.
Given the affinity Crosby already seems to have for one of their best players, it might be a fait accompli for Philly to bring him into the mix.
