Several teams will be disappointed to see Tyreek Hill’s name no longer on this list due to his season-ending injury. However, plenty of talent is still available for teams looking to upgrade at positions all over the football field. Whether teams are looking for new personnel or players who would benefit from a change of scenery, trade season is among us, so let’s dive into who looks most likely to be traded as we approach the deadline.
10) Evan Neal, New York Giants
Starting in the trenches, Evan Neal, a former top-ten pick for the Giants, has not been a match with the team, and many teams could use some depth at offensive line out there. The Giants are running out a rookie quarterback, and the primary goal of that is to keep him healthy and get him experience, so you wouldn’t usually look to trade away offensive line depth for that reason.
But when he is a healthy scratch in each of the first four games, he isn’t a part of that equation, so you may as well get an asset for him if it is available for you to take.
Potential Suitors: Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans
9) Russell Wilson, New York Giants
The Giants brought in Russell Wilson to be the bridge for rookie QB Jaxson Dart to take over the offense eventually. Nobody thought that would be after three games, but with the Giants falling to 0-3 and Wilson not playing well, Coach Daboll figured it would be the right move. Dart came in and won his first game, and he is now the starter for the Giants. The offense looks much different.
This is not what the Giants or Wilson had planned for the 25-26 season, so I am sure both parties would love to work toward a solution that finds a home for Wilson to play again, or at least be a contingency plan option.
It shouldn’t cost too much; the Giants already have Jameis Winston on hand to back up Dart if a trade is made. Until then, Dart and the Giants will focus on their game in New Orleans, with Wilson still on board as a Super Bowl champion mentor.
Potential Suitors: Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens
8) David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
David Njoku has always been a tight end with a tantalizing upside, and he has shown promise when he has been healthy. Now, with the Browns bringing in Harold Fannin Jr., they are clearly strong at drafting and/or developing at this position, as he looks like a great fit in this offense, meaning Njoku’s services could be available with the Browns sputtering out of the gates this season.
Look for the Browns not to force a move with Njoku, but if the correct price comes, a contender will land a real game-changing piece to their offense if he can stay healthy.
Potential Suitors: Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans
7) Breece Hall, New York Jets
If Braelon Allen had not gone down for an extended period, Breece Hall would be higher on this list. Coach Glenn had said he wasn’t looking to trade Hall in August, but I assume that if you told him that the team would be 1-3 to start the year, he would not have anticipated that.
Personally, I think Hall has more to give. He has been hampered by inconsistent usage over the last couple of years and could be the single most vital piece to move if the Jets choose to do so. The fact that this is the final year of his rookie contract helps his case for a change of scenery, as they may already have other plans beyond this year anyway.
Potential Suitors: Washington Commanders, Arizona Cardinals
6) Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals
With one of the top stories of the offseason being the way the Bengals handled negotiations with Hendrickson, and him ending up coming to work to earn his pay and try to make it work, you could say that the impending free agent may already have his eyes on greener pastures.
This deal may include an extension to unleash the fire within him, but in any case, this is an extremely valuable player who can completely change the dynamic of a team’s defensive line.
Potential Suitors: Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions
5) Travis Etienne, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Travis Etienne situation in Jacksonville is undoubtedly one to monitor, as it looks like he is back to form after a very rough 2024 season. In the final year of his deal, they have a talented back behind him in Bhayshul Tuten, who, while unproven, has shown flashes that gave the team confidence to trade 2024 leading rusher Tank Bigsby to Philadelphia and allow Tuten to be the clear backup to Etienne.
The Jaguars are playing decently, but if they are considering changing their direction after the season anyway, Etienne may be on the move and could make a big difference for a team’s chances at success this season.
Potential Suitors: Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys
4) Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders
Jakobi Meyers, the Raiders’ top receiver by a wide margin last year, has long been rumored to be on the move, but now may be the time to act on it for Las Vegas. Plus, Geno Smith appears to have found a preference in Tre Tucker. This season, the Raiders have a much more balanced passing attack and offense, and if they can get a younger wideout and a draft pick for Meyers, it could make a lot of sense for the Raiders to move on.
Potential Suitors: Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers
3) Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
Many feel that now may be the time to sell everything and go for a top pick with a few good quarterbacks in the draft next season. After falling to 0-4, the Saints’ rebuild is in full effect, and it would do them well to cash in on a premium asset that could get them a decent return to continue the commitment to a complete rebuild.
The former first-round pick would make any team better that chose to bring him in, and I explain here why now is the perfect time for the Giants to make the move for Olave.
Potential Suitors: New York Giants, Miami Dolphins
2) Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
When Mac Jones came to San Francisco, Kyle Shanahan may have been the most excited person in the world. He had always wanted to bring him in, and he has absolutely balled out in the absence of Brock Purdy, who is currently week-to-week with an injury.
The former first-round pick has thrown for 905 yards and six touchdowns, with only one interception in the 49er offense, and he looks like a man with his confidence at an all-time high, and someone who teams could certainly call about to help their quarterback room get stronger.
Potential Suitors: Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints
1) A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
With all of the uncertainty around AJ Brown, based on his own posts and frustration, the idea of Brown playing somewhere else is now tangible. A report coming from a credible source at this juncture means these conversations are being had, and if the right offer is made, they may be inclined not to wait.
We all know what Brown can do on the field, but for this frustration to grow as the team continues to find success on the field, they may think it is less tense in the locker room to have players focused on the team’s goals. As I spotlight here, there are some teams that have a lot of reasons to take that risk, if you even want to call it that.
Potential Suitors: Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts
