The Denver Broncos saw their chances of reaching Super Bowl 60 end with a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship, a result that left Los Angeles Chargers fans feeling positive after their Week 18 clash.
In that game, most of the Chargers’ starters were rested ahead of the playoffs. However, Tony Jefferson became the center of attention when a controversy arose: during Week 18 against the Broncos, Jefferson made a profanity-laced speech criticizing Denver, which was caught on ESPN cameras. After Denver’s elimination, the veteran defensive back reacted with irony on social media.
Tony Jefferson Did Not Hide His Happiness At The Denver Broncos’ Elimination
On his Twitter/X profile, Jefferson posted a video admiring a peaceful ocean view, sitting in a beach chair with the word “C’mon!”, a reference to the offensive words directed at the franchise during the regular season.

Additionally, Jefferson responded to some users using the same irony, showing that he was comfortable dealing with any criticism and adverse reactions from Broncos fans. This response came against the backdrop of the Broncos having a real chance to advance to Super Bowl 60, underscoring the significance of their elimination.

Los Angeles entered the game confident after their 2025 win over the Broncos. However, the loss forced them to face the Patriots in the Wild Card, where a 16-3 defeat in Foxborough ended the Chargers’ season.
It is worth remembering that the social media video posted this weekend followed Jefferson’s earlier controversy in Week 18, when he delivered a speech criticizing the Broncos, as captured by ESPN cameras.

Jefferson Had a Good Regular Season with the Chargers
Despite recent controversy in the news, Jefferson had a strong season after returning from retirement. Following a quiet 2024, he emerged as a major surprise for the Los Angeles defense in 2025, which ranks No. 8 in the PFSN Defense Impact metric with a B- grade, making his impact felt beyond off-field headlines.
Jefferson recorded four interceptions, tying his career high and finishing the year among the NFL’s leading safeties in that category. In addition, he had 57 tackles, demonstrating his quality in the run game. In all, he played in 13 regular-season games, starting eight of them, becoming a reliable partner for Derwin James Jr. in the secondary.
His key interceptions in the regular season came in essential wins against rivals such as the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles, helping the Chargers finish 11-6 and secure a Wild Card spot in the playoffs.
Recently, the 33-year-old took to social media to dispel retirement rumors, stating there is no sign he is slowing down and he plans to play at least two more seasons.
