How Tom Brady Was ‘One of the Main Draws’ in Klint Kubiak’s Decision To Become Raiders’ New HC

The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach in Klint Kubiak, and Kubiak recently revealed what intrigued him about the job in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Raiders did not have a good season in 2025, to put it mildly. The team finished 3-14 and, as a result, moved on from head coach Pete Carroll after just one season.

The team chose Klint Kubiak to be the next head coach. Kubiak just won the Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, and at his introductory presser, the coach revealed one of the main reasons he chose the Raiders.

Klint Kubiak Reveals What was Appealing About the Raiders

Kubiak has never been a head coach, but he’s been an offensive coordinator for three different NFL teams. The coach became a top candidate for head coaching jobs this offseason after leading a top-10 offense in Seattle in 2025.

While several teams were likely interested in the coach, he ultimately decided on the Raiders. On Tuesday, the coach pointed to minority owner Tom Brady as a key reason.

“That’s one of the main draws to come here, to get to work with him (Brady), to get to work with Spy (John Spytek), these are great football minds,” Kubiak explained. “If we collaborate the way we’re supposed to, then we’re going to pull the best out of each other.”

Brady has begun taking a more visible role with the Raiders since joining the ownership group back in 2023. It’s assumed that the legend has significant input into all the team’s decisions.

It’s understandable why Kubiak would want to work for Brady. Brady has seven Super Bowl victories and knows what it takes to build a winning team. Now, Kubiak will get his shot to prove he can be a successful NFL head coach.

Raiders Need to Make Significant Improvements this Offseason

It’s nice to have the head coach, general manager, and ownership on the same page, but this team still has a lot of questions to answer. For example, the team ranked No. 31 in the league in 2025 according to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metric.

The team luckily has the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, though, and is widely expected to select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza could immediately solve the team’s biggest issues and give fans a star to get excited about.

Kubiak will also have to deal with the Maxx Crosby situation. Crosby is one of the best pass-rushers in the league, but reportedly wants out of Las Vegas. Kubiak will have his work cut out for him as he attempts to turn the long-struggling franchise around.
