Jayden Daniels will face Tom Brady this March in a high-profile flag football showcase that blends entertainment and competition. The matchup is already being framed as more than a gimmick, even before the full rosters have been revealed. Brady and Daniels were on stage together Wednesday night to promote the event.
How Did Tom Brady and Jayden Daniels Set the Tone at Fanatics Studios Launch?
Brady confirmed Daniels’ involvement while appearing alongside him at the launch event for Fanatics Studios in Los Angeles, where the company formally introduced the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. That is when the seven-time Super Bowl champion revealed Daniels will serve as one of three team captains for the March 21 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“All right, so we got another quarterback,” Brady said. “Jayden’s going to be another one. It’s going to be competitive.”

Brady went further during their on-stage exchange, needling Daniels about choosing to call his games instead of lining up against him sooner and joking that he planned to treat him the same way he treated the Jets and Bills during his career.
Daniels’ participation is intriguing considering his underwhelming second year as a pro. The Washington Commanders quarterback played just seven games in the 2025 season after suffering a dislocated elbow initially in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks and then reinjuring it on Dec. 7 in a loss to Minnesota. Daniels ranked 28th in PFSN’s QBi. Last year, he ranked fifth.
His return as a captain confirms he is healthy enough to compete again. That makes this event his first on-field action since that injury.
How the Fanatics Flag Football Classic Will Work
The Fanatics Flag Football Classic will take place on March 21 in Riyadh and will feature three teams competing in an Olympic-style flag football format. The teams are named the Founders, Wildcats, and Mustangs.
Brady will captain the Founders, while Daniels will lead the Wildcats. The captain for the Mustangs has not yet been announced.
Games will follow five-on-five rules on a 50-yard field with two 20-minute halves, and each team will carry eight players on its roster. FOX Sports and Tubi will broadcast the event.
Several current and former NFL stars are already confirmed to participate, including Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, Sauce Gardner, Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, Brock Bowers, and Rob Gronkowski. The coaching staffs will be just as notable, with Sean Payton, Kyle Shanahan, and Pete Carroll set to lead the three teams.
Daniels enters the event as the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, now stepping into a rare setting where he will line up opposite the quarterback who defined the modern NFL. Brady, meanwhile, becomes the centerpiece of Fanatics’ new venture by turning his return into a competitive spectacle rather than a ceremonial appearance.
The full rosters and the third quarterback captain will be revealed in the coming weeks, but the foundation is already in place. Brady versus Daniels is the headline, and March 21 in Riyadh is when it becomes reality.
