Seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady, who won six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been working alongside Kevin Burkhardt in the Fox Sports NFL booth. Brady signed a 10-year deal with the network for $375 million guaranteed.
Brady is also involved in the Las Vegas Raiders’ ownership group. While Brady has been able to share his wisdom with the Raiders, that’s not always been the case with his work for Fox Sports.
It’s gotten so bad that one famous broadcaster says he can’t even listen to Brady anymore.
What Did Dan Le Batard Say About Tom Brady?
Dan Le Batard, who does his “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” for DraftKings Sportsbook, didn’t shy away from giving Brady the business on his show on Thursday.
“Tom Brady is distracting me during games because he’s still bad at this,” Le Batard said. “Like it’s not even that he’s neutral or mediocre or milquetoast or just there, and I don’t notice it. I’m noticing, and he’s distracting me with it not being good.
“Has Tom Brady done anything during any of these broadcasts that you guys remember?” Le Batard asked his group of show employees in the studio with him. “Never mind the way that (CBS Sports NFL analyst) Tony Romo started, where he was correctly predicting plays.
“Is there anything memorable that Tom Brady is giving the Fox broadcast for that $375 million guaranteed dollars that any of you have from the first four weeks of the season that would indicate that he has improved at this to you?” Le Batard asked.
One of Le Batard’s fellow announcers said that the reason Brady is in the booth is for potential sponsors and advertisers. “But he’s distracting me during the broadcast,” Le Batard replied.

“I’m noticing when he’s doing things incorrectly. I’m not noticing when he’s doing them correctly and at this point he needs to just be an offensive lineman. Don’t get a penalty so I don’t notice you.”

When Brady stepped into the booth, Fox Sports probably hoped that his experience from his years in the NFL would transfer to their main game’s viewership. Brady was catapulted into Fox Sports’ No. 1 NFL broadcast team, pushing Greg Olsen into the network’s No. 2 team. Olsen provides steady insights as an analyst in any NFL game he covers.
Le Batard might not be the only voice out there who isn’t impressed by Brady’s on-screen work. Maybe Brady needs to learn a little bit more from people like Olsen and even Romo. At this point, though, it would be hard to believe that Fox Sports would move away from Brady. The network has too much of a vested interest in Brady to make a change.
If Fox Sports did bounce Brady from the No. 1 team, then he might just leave the network altogether. But it’s hard to turn away from $375 million guaranteed and go focus on the Raiders in a more full-time capacity.
