Todd Monken has served as the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. He is unlikely to continue in this role next year after the franchise moved on from head coach John Harbaugh. The play caller recently admitted a major regret from his time working with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, as the duo is expected to split during the 2026 NFL offseason.
Ravens OC Todd Monken Admits a Major Regret From Coaching Lamar Jackson
Monken had plenty of success in his three years as the Ravens offensive coordinator, but Baltimore ultimately fell short of their ultimate goal to win a Super Bowl. The closest that they came during this time was two years ago, when they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
He referenced this specific game when discussing his time with Jackson and admitted a major regret about the situation overall. He did so during an appearance on the “Ryan Ripken Show” when discussing his tenure with the franchise.
“I wish I would have called it better. I wish I would have had a better plan. I wish I would have trusted the run game better … That’ll be one I’ll have to live with forever,” stated Monken.
It’s honorable that Monken is taking accountability for the loss against the Chiefs, or at least owning his role in their shortcomings. He’s admitting that his play calling was one of the reasons why the Ravens were unable to advance, rather than pointing fingers or making excuses.
A legitimate case can be made that Jackson was most successful during his elite career while Monken was his offensive coordinator. He was named a first-team All-Pro quarterback in both of their first two seasons together and won the NFL MVP award in one of them. He also earned two of his three career playoff wins during their three year partnership.
Todd Monken is most likely OUT of Baltimore after he spoke on the Ryan Ripken show earlier.

The 2025 season was a much different story as the Ravens shockingly missed the playoffs, despite entering the year as one of the Super Bowl favorites. This likely played a huge role in their decision to part ways with Harbaugh and is likely to lead to a change at offensive coordinator as well.
Their offense regressed significantly this year, finishing 20th overall in PFSN’s Impact Rankings, after finishing second and sixth in Monken’s first two seasons. This could also play a role in their expected pursuit of a new offensive coordinator to join Jackson.
