Veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett is already making a name for himself in a new city, showing his experience in his first media day with the Tennessee Titans.
Tyler Lockett’s been around the league a while. His first season with the Titans will be his 11th in the NFL, having been drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2015 draft. The 2025 season will be his first wearing anything but a Seahawks jersey.

Lockett Meets the Tennessee Media for the First Time
The Tennessee Titans staff and players met with the media today, led by head coach Brian Callahan. He was asked about his new receivers, including Lockett and the two fourth-round rookies Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, seemingly excited to get out on the field next week and see them compete.
Lockett then met the media himself, and introduced himself to each and every media member individually by shaking their hands.
When he got up on the podium to answer questions, he was asked why. Tyler responded by saying:
“I feel like y’all are just as much a family as everybody else that’s going to be teammates, so you got to get to know the coaches, get to know the media.”
He continued by jokingly mentioning:
“You guys are going to be the ones writing stories about us, whether it’s good or bad, and who knows, sometimes doing that handshake, you might be a little bit… more lenient.”

He got a laugh from the room, suggesting he’s already off to a strong start with the Titans reporters. Maybe the veteran knows something a lot of players don’t about keeping the media and reporters firmly on his good side.
Lockett is coming over to the Titans as the most experienced pass catcher on the roster. Not only will that be good for No. 1 overall draft pick Cam Ward, but it’ll also be a significant addition for the development of the teams young offensive players.
Lockett Has Been a Reliable Receiver for a Decade
When he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, Lockett made an immediate impact behind veteran Doug Baldwin. He quickly built trust with quarterback Russell Wilson, catching the second most passes on the offense while also contiributing as one of the best returners in the league.
Lockett had a punt return touchdown on his NFL debut against the St. Louis Rams, and then in Week 3 he took a kickoff 105 yards to the endzone against the Chicago Bears. He was voted a first-team All-Pro for his special-teams contribution, but over time developed into a complete receiver within the offense.
Between 2018 and 2022, Lockett managed four straight 1,000+ yard seasons, while catching 46 receiving touchdowns during that same period. He has a total of 63 career receiving touchdowns going into the 2025 season.
While the veteran is now 32 years old and will turn 33 in late September, he still knows how to get open and can offer a very reliable target to Cam Ward early in his career.
He’s versatile, can play out wide or in the slot, and on a young team with a lot of developing players, will be a brilliant locker room presence for the Titans.
