Titans Predicted To Select Ohio State Playmaker in 2026 NFL Draft To Bolster Offense Around Cam Ward

The Tennessee Titans have their quarterback of the future in Cam Ward. But one analyst thinks they need to surround their QB with elite weapons.

The Tennessee Titans have a clear plan in mind for next season. After winning just three games in 2024 to secure the draft rights to Cam Ward, the Titans are hoping that Ward is the franchise quarterback they were hoping for.

However, to build a competitive roster around their signal-caller, Tennessee is going to need to surround him with the right pieces to ensure the group’s success as a whole. And one analyst believes help could be on its way, courtesy of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tennessee Titans Need Weapons Around Cam Ward

After going 3-14 last year, it is clear that the roster in Nashville isn’t the most competitive group. However, an excellent quarterback can change a franchise’s outlook dramatically. As a result, the 2026 NFL Draft is going to be critical for the Titans.

With head coach Brian Callahan’s job potentially at risk, the team needs to have a strong showing in 2025. However, the latest mock draft from PFSN suggests those fears may not be entirely detached from reality.

As Joe DeLeone has them picking fourth overall in the draft, it can give you an idea about the kind of season he expects Tennessee to have. In that case, they’re going to need to swing for the fences. With the fourth pick, DeLeone has them adding T.J. Parker to the defense.

After ranking 22nd on PFSN’s Defense+ metric, all hope might not be lost on that end of the floor, with a terrific edge rusher potentially elevating their defense to above the league average category. However, in Round 2, the analyst wants the Titans to bring in pieces for Ward.

Calling Carnell Tate out of Ohio State “the epitome of smooth”, DeLeone is certainly expecting big things from the Buckeye in his junior year. Over the first two seasons of his career, Tate has steadily grown in his role.

Last year, he totaled 733 yards and four touchdowns, up tremendously from his freshman season, where he had 264 yards and a single touchdown. For a team that was a bottom-five unit in the league on PFSN’s Offense+ metric, that kind of production is a godsend.

With the rest of the receiving core lacking, adding more help for Ward is going to be a must for the Titans. Aside from the potentially incoming Tate, an aging Calvin Ridley, and rookies Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, they are their best pass catchers going into 2025.

For a young QB, that wide receiver room isn’t going to suffice. And adding more talent is a genuine necessity.
