With just days remaining before the 2025 NFL Draft, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is gaining attention for all the right and wrong reasons.
Despite elite production and measurables, there’s growing speculation he may slide on draft night. NFL analyst Kay Adams, however, is urging teams not to overthink it.

Could Tetairoa McMillan Be the Biggest Draft Steal of 2025?
Appearing on the Up & Adams show, Adams delivered a passionate defense of McMillan, criticizing how scouts might be letting minor concerns overshadow obvious talent.
“All right, one thing about Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is that he might be the biggest example of overthinking that I’ve seen in the draft process,” she said. “The dude’s 6’4″, okay? He’s got a 78-inch wingspan, he catches everything thrown in his general direction… He’s so productive, more productive than any receiver in college football over the last two seasons.”
McMillan’s college numbers back up the hype. In 2023, he totaled 1,402 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Despite coaching instability and quarterback inconsistency in 2024, he still racked up 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns on 84 receptions, good for third most in the FBS.
Adams referenced a specific performance to highlight his ͏upside: “He had a͏ 300-y͏ard and four touchdown performance in a win over New Mexico, which is insane.” ͏Yet some scouts remain͏ cautious because McMill͏an opted ͏not to work out at the NF͏L Combine, instead holding a͏ private pro ͏day where he ͏reportedly ran in the low-͏to-mid ͏4.͏5 range.

But Adams is adamant: “Stop overthinking it. You’re overthinking it. Tetairoa can flat out ball, okay?”
NFL teams appear divided. The Green Bay Packers recently hosted McMillan for a top-30 visit, and their GM, Brian Gutekunst, was the only one present at his private workout. McMillan is also currently favored at -300 to be the first wide receiver off the board, ahead of Texas WR Matthew Golden (+195), whom Green Bay also met with.
McMillan’s elite traits — size, athleticism, and production — have drawn comparisons to players like Tee Higgins and Courtland Sutton. “He’s a big-bodied receiver that is going to make plays,” said Adams. “He is going to be a productive receiver in this league for a long time.”
Multiple teams have been linked to him in mocks, including Dallas (No. 12), Denver (No. 20), the Chargers (No. 22), and the Packers (No. 23). Some projections even place him as high as No. 6 to the Raiders.
As Adams bluntly put it: “Don’t overthink it, Jerry.” With his high floor, big-play ability, and undeniable production, McMillan could very well be the steal of the 2025 NFL Draft.
