American ATP star Taylor Fritz is all set to compete against the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. Having reached the semifinals, Fritz was backed by commendable support, not only from the fans but from his strong team and his long-time girlfriend, Morgan Riddle.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of Taylor Fritz’s box and the members it equips, featuring Riddle, Paul Annacone, and more.
Coach Michael Russell
Michael Russell has been coaching Taylor Fritz since late 2021. The renowned mentor guided him to new heights, including an ATP Masters 1000 title and a career‑high world No. 4 in November 2024. A former pro himself (peaked world No. 60), Russell retired in 2015 and started his journey as a coach in Houston.

He previously worked with Frances Tiafoe (2017), Ryan Harrison (2018), Tennys Sandgren and Mackenzie McDonald (both 2019) through USTA Player Development. He also received the ATP Coach of the Year award for his work with Fritz during a breakthrough 2024 season.
He is also accompanied by his wife, Lily Russell. A former fitness competitor and now part of Fritz’s box, she helps with physiotherapy, logistics, and emotional balance.
Paul Annacone
Paul Annacone has been working with Taylor Fritz since around 2018, helping him with strategic guidance and big-picture coaching. The former American pro reached world No. 12 in singles and No. 3 in doubles, winning 3 singles and 14 doubles titles, including the 1985 Australian Open.
He became a coach in 1995 and over the years built an impressive résumé. He led Pete Sampras from 1995 to 2001/02 to nine Grand Slam titles, coached Tim Henman (2003-2007), Roger Federer (2010-2013), and also briefly worked with Sloane Stephens and Stan Wawrinka.
Morgan Riddle (Girlfriend)
Morgan Riddle has been Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend since 2020, after they first met on the dating app Raya during the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s an American influencer and content creator who posts tennis lifestyle, fashion, and travel content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Often seen courtside during Fritz’s matches, especially at Wimbledon, she cheers him on, shares behind-the-scenes clips, and even hosts tennis fashion features like “Wimbledon Threads”. Fritz credits her support, routine help, and organized presence as a big influence on his game and life.
Kathy May Fritz (Mother)
Kathy May Fritz (born June 18, 1956) is Taylor Fritz’s mother and a former top-10 WTA star who claimed seven singles and four doubles titles. She reached the quarterfinals of the French Open (1977 and 1978) and the US Open (1978). Despite her early retirement from the sport, she quietly supports Fritz and guides him in critical early career decisions.

Guy Fritz (Father)
Guy Fritz is Taylor’s father and early coach. He gave a kick-start to Fritz’s career by guiding him from age two until turning pro at 18. A former ATP pro with a career-high ranking near No. 301, he was named U.S. Olympic Development Coach of the Year in 2016. Known for his strict, “tough love” methods, he pushed Taylor hard — sometimes straining their relationship– but ensured early establishment for his son’s success.
Wolfgang Oswald (Physiotherapist)
Wolfgang Oswald is Taylor Fritz’s longtime physiotherapist and movement specialist. He started working with Fritz around late 2015 after first meeting him in Chengdu when Fritz was playing qualifying. They quickly formed a tight bond during that tournament and the following Challenger events in Asia.
Oswald uses biomechanical motion analysis to keep Fritz healthy, fine-tune his movement, monitor recovery, and help prevent injury, enabling hard training by other coaches like Michael Russell.
Matt Fawcett (Agent)
Matt Fawcett has been Taylor Fritz’s agent since mid-2024. He manages the American pros’ off-court affairs, sponsorships, and logistical needs. Fawcett is often seen seated in Fritz’s player’s box alongside Michael Russell, Morgan Riddle, Lilly Russell, and Wolfgang Oswald during big tournaments like the U.S. Open. His role ensures that Fritz can stay focused on the court, confident that contracts, travel plans, and media commitments are well handled behind the scenes.
