Venus Williams and her husband Andrea Preti are celebrating the two-year anniversary of the first time they met. Incidentally, it also happens to be the tennis legend’s birthday.
To mark the occasion, Preti sent a loving message to his partner, reminiscing on their life together. Williams, meanwhile, amusingly admitted that she only realized it was her birthday after her husband reminded her.
Venus Williams and Andrea Preti Celebrate Their Love
Williams met Preti, an Italian actor and model, for the first time on June 17 during the 2024 Menswear Milan Fashion Week. The couple soon started dating and made their relationship public in July. In February 2025, Williams sparked a buzz after being spotted wearing a diamond ring. Although the engagement occurred on January 31, she did not confirm the news until July.
Just a couple of months later, Williams and Preti got married in Italy, in an intimate setting. They held another ceremony in December to celebrate with their loved ones.
Preti shared a sweet Instagram story on Wednesday, remembering the day he met his future wife. “I met you today. Today you are celebrating your birthday. It all started today. And today it’s you and me, @venuswilliams,” he wrote.
“Happy anniversary. Happy bday Amoreyyy,” Andrea Preti added.
Williams, on her part, amusingly disclosed, “I found out that today is my birthday from my husband. I guess I didn’t realize it was today.”
“Up bright and early, I can’t even open my eyes. So tired,” she quipped during a tennis practice session. “And today I’m 20 years old.”
Venus Williams Prepares for Comeback With Serena Williams
According to her birthday clip, the 46-year-old star appears to have begun her preparations for her highly anticipated Wimbledon appearance with her sister, Serena Williams. The sibling-duo received a doubles wildcard at the tournament, days after Serena staged her tennis comeback.
While Serena competed at the Queen’s Club Championships and the Berlin Tennis Open to kick off her grass-court season, her older sister may directly resume her campaign at SW19. Her most recent competitive appearance was at the Madrid Open in April. She was scheduled to compete in women’s doubles at the French Open, but her partner, Hailey Baptiste, withdrew after suffering an ACL injury.
Venus and Serena Williams have an incredible record at Wimbledon in singles and doubles. In singles, the former has clinched five trophies, while Serena has seven trophies to her name besides a London Olympics gold.
Meanwhile, they are six-time women’s doubles champions and have also won gold in the doubles category at the 2012 Olympics. Serena has also bagged a mixed doubles trophy at the tournament.
