The year 2025 saw several professional tennis players get married and start new chapters in their lives. While fans watched exciting matches and tournaments throughout the year, some of the biggest names in tennis, including Venus Williams, were celebrating their relationships with ceremonies all around the world. The wedding ceremony took place overlooking the Ionian Sea, with close friends and family gathered to celebrate the occasion. The bride chose a strapless gown from Ukrainian designer Milla Nova for the big day. At the time of the wedding, Shapovalov was ranked No. 26 on the ATP Tour and had enjoyed strong success in 2025.
He won his biggest career title at the ATP 500 in Dallas in February and then captured the ATP 250 in Los Cabos in July, winning that tournament without dropping a set.

The reception featured Italian and Spanish food, a live band, a saxophonist, fireworks, and flamenco dancers.

The celebration continued late into the night, with guests dancing until after three in the morning. ATP player Arthur Fils, who is a good friend of Fokina’s, was present at the wedding. Fokina was ranked No. 28 at the time and later withdrew from Queen’s Club due to allergies that were made worse by the stress of the wedding preparations.

Venus Williams’ High-Profile Marriage with Andrea Preti
Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams married Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti in two different ceremonies in 2025. They had their first wedding on September 18 in Ischia, Italy, in a small ceremony. However, the paperwork for getting legally married in Italy took too long, so they went to a courthouse in Miami, Florida, on December 19 to make it official.
After that, they held a big celebration in Palm Beach with family and friends. Williams and Preti met at Milan Fashion Week in 2024 at a Gucci show that neither of them had originally planned to attend. Preti proposed to Williams in January 2025 in Tuscany, asking her to make a wish on a star before showing her the ring.

Williams announced the engagement publicly in December 2025 through an Instagram post captioned “Engaged 1/31/25💫.” The Palm Beach celebration lasted five days and included pool parties every day, a special bridal shower, games such as volleyball and pickleball, and a yacht party organized by Williams’s sister, Serena.
Even at 45 years old, Williams is still playing professional tennis and plans to play her 33rd season on the WTA Tour in 2026.
