US Open 2026 Draw Featuring Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka Released

The 2026 US Open draws are out, with Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Carlos Alcaraz among the top four seeds in their respective draws.

The 2026 US Open singles main draw is just around the corner, with matches set to begin on August 30. Several top American players, including Jessica Pegula, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Amanda Anisimova, will be aiming to win their maiden Grand Slam title on home soil.

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic, Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek, and Aryna Sabalenka will be looking to add another Grand Slam title to their respective collections. Former champions Jannik Sinner and Emma Raducanu will miss the tournament as they continue their recovery from injuries. Venus Williams and Stan Wawrinka, both former US Open champions, have been handed wildcards for the event.

The draw for the 2026 edition was released on Thursday, August 27.

Men’s Singles Draw for the US Open 2026, Featuring Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic

The men’s draw will get underway without World No. 1 Sinner. The 2024 champion and last year’s runner-up withdrew from the tournament after suffering a knee injury during his break ahead of the North American hardcourt swing. Alexander Zverev has been handed the top seed, while defending champion Alcaraz is the second seed.

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Novak Djokovic are the third and fourth seeds, respectively. Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev, and Ben Shelton round out the top eight seeds in that order.

Alongside Wawrinka, who was offered a last-minute wildcard, Michael Zheng, Gaël Monfils, Darwin Blanch, Dane Sweeny, Sebastian Gorzny, Jack Kennedy, and J. J. Wolf are wildcard entrants.

Djokovic is drawn in Alcaraz’s half and will begin his campaign against Argentina’s Mariano Navone. The Spaniard, who hasn’t competed in almost five months, faces a tricky first-round test against Roman Safiullin, who won their only hardcourt meeting at the 2023 Paris Masters. The players are tied at 1-1 in their head-to-head record.

Zverev, the 2020 runner-up, will open his campaign against Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego in the top half. Auger-Aliassime, who is placed in the German’s half of the draw, will face Australia’s Rinky Hijikata in the first round. Meanwhile, Americans Fritz and Shelton have drawn wildcard Darwin Blanch and Tallon Griekspoor, respectively.

Women’s Singles Draw for the US Open 2026, Featuring Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff

The women’s draw sets up a thrilling battle for Aryna Sabalenka’s World No. 1 ranking, with Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, and Coco Gauff also in contention. Sabalenka, the two-time defending champion, is the top seed, followed by Rybakina, Pegula, and Gauff, respectively. She is chasing a hat-trick of US Open titles in New York, but her inconsistent form of late could put her bid for a three-peat under serious threat.

Mirra Andreeva, Linda Nosková, Karolína Muchová, and Iga Świątek occupy the fourth through eighth seed positions, respectively.

In addition to Venus Williams, wildcards have been awarded to Taylah Preston, Sloane Stephens, Sofia Kenin, Carol Young Suh Lee, Leolia Jeanjean, Reese Brantmeier, and Thea Frodin.

Sabalenka will begin her title defense against Camila Osorio in the first round. Meanwhile, Pegula, who is drawn in the World No. 1’s half, will begin her campaign against Elena-Gabriela Ruse. In the bottom half of the draw, Rybakina will face wildcard Thea Frodin in the opening round. Meanwhile, 2023 champion Coco Gauff, who is also placed in the bottom half, will start her run against Zeynep Sönmez.

Stan Wawrinka vs. Matteo Berrettini, Arthur Fils vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev vs. Marin Čilić, Venus Williams vs. Sofia Kenin, and Daria Kasatkina vs. Paula Badosa are among the marquee match-ups in the men’s and women’s draws. Meanwhile, qualifiers and lucky losers will be placed once the qualifying rounds conclude.
