Among these players, Osaka’s outfit was the most striking and elaborate. During her first round match, the four-time Grand Slam champion entered the court with sparkly red roses braided in her hair, matching her shimmering red headphones and a jacket adorned with red crystals.
Osaka also carried a customized red Labubu doll attached to her bag, which was covered in red and gold crystals. The doll was also seen holding a sparkly blue tennis racket.

On the other hand, after her victory over Greet Minnen in the first round, Osaka will face Hailey Baptiste in the second round. The two have met twice on the WTA Tour, and the former World No. 1 won both encounters.
Osaka and Baptiste’s most recent match was in the third round of the 2025 Miami Open, which the Japanese won 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-4. The winner of their second-round match at the New York Major will advance to face either the 15th seed, Daria Kasatkina, or Kamilla Rakhimova in the third round.
Meanwhile, Raducanu will take on qualifier Janice Tjen in the second round of the US Open. This will be their first meeting on the WTA Tour, and the winner will move on to face either the ninth seed, Elena Rybakina, or qualifier Tereza Valentová in the third round.
On the men’s side of the draw, following his win over Kopřiva in the first round of the 2025 US Open, Sinner is set to face Alexei Popyrin in the second round.
Sinner and Popyrin have only met once on the ATP Tour, during the second round of the 2021 Madrid Open, where the Aussie emerged victorious with a score of 7-6(5), 6-2. The winner of their upcoming match at Flushing Meadows will advance to face either the 27th seed, Denis Shapovalov, or wild card Valentin Royer in the third round.
