Tommy Paul’s Fiancée Paige Lorenze Laments His Court Assignment As She Misses Italian Open Action

Tommy Paul's prime court assignment at the 2026 Italian Open causes his absent fiancée, Paige Lorenze, to feel left out.

Tommy Paul has kicked off his campaign at the 2026 Italian Open without the presence of his fiancée, Paige Lorenze, who typically accompanies him to tournaments. Even though she isn’t there in person, Lorenze has been keeping an eye on the American’s journey, and his court assignment sparked a reaction.

Why Paige Lorenze Called Out Tommy Paul’s Italian Open Court Assignment

Following a first-round bye, No. 16 seed Paul locked horns with Aleksandar Vukic in his opening match at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Rome. The battle unfolded at Stadio Pietrangeli, with the American securing a dominant 6-4, 6-2 victory. He later shared pictures from the match on Instagram, which caught his fiancée’s attention.

Paige Lorenze humorously lamented missing out on his long-awaited “cool” court allotment.

“Ofc you play on the cool court the one year I don’t go,” Lorenze commented.

Lorenze’s reaction is understandable, given that the Nicola Pietrangeli Stadium is widely regarded as the most picturesque court at the Foro Italico complex. The 3,720-seat amphitheater is surrounded by 18 stunning marble statues, creating a uniquely striking setting.

Following his victory, Paul appeared on the Tennis Channel and shared a lighthearted update on his wedding plans. After joking that he wishes Lorenze would help him out just a little, the 28-year-old admitted that she has taken charge of all the planning, while gushing over his fiancée.

“Yeah, I’m doing I mean, it’s a lot of fun. I wish Paige would help me out a little bit. I’m doing all the work, you know,” Paul said. “No, I’m just playing. She’s doing everything. She’s amazing. She’s really a rockstar, so it’s awesome.”

Paul and Lorenze went public with their relationship in 2022, and the social media influencer and entrepreneur soon became a familiar presence in the American’s player’s box. In July 2025, the world No. 18 proposed to Lorenze against a romantic beachside setting.

Earlier this season at the clay-court event in Houston, Paul disclosed that their wedding is set to take place after the Wimbledon Championships, which will run from June 29 to July 12.

“It’s after Wimbledon, and we’re really excited for it. She’s so good at that kind of stuff. This is the first wedding that she’s planned, but I trust her with my life. She’s doing most of it, and likes bringing stuff and asking me questions about it,” he said.

On the tennis front, Tommy Paul will square off against Luciano Darderi in the third round of the Italian Open. If he wins, the American could face a tough test against No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev, provided the German overcomes Alexander Blockx.
