Tommy Paul is set to miss this year’s Queen’s Club Championships — a surprising development ahead of one of the key lead-up events for the Wimbledon Championships. As a result, he will also forfeit the 500 ranking points he earned by winning the tournament last year. Moreover, the previous year’s runner-up, Lorenzo Musetti, is another notable name who will skip the ATP 500 tournament.
Tommy Paul out of the Queen’s Club Championships in a Shocking Update
Paul won three ATP titles last year—the Dallas Open, Queen’s Club Championships, and Stockholm Open. He also enjoyed a solid grass-court season, reaching the quarterfinals at both the Libema Open and Wimbledon. His standout achievement, however, was clinching the ATP 500 title in London.
The American dominated throughout the tournament, winning every match in straight sets except for his quarterfinal clash against Jack Draper. He opened with a commanding win over Sebastián Báez, then defeated Alejandro Tabilo and Draper to reach the semifinals, where he eased past compatriot Sebastian Korda. In the final, Paul had little trouble overcoming Lorenzo Musetti to claim the ATP 500 title.
This year, however, things look different for the American. Since his second-round win over Márton Fucsovics at the 2025 French Open, he has been dealing with abdominal issues and adductor pain. Yet, he managed to reach the quarterfinals before falling to Carlos Alcaraz.
Paul has yet to begin his grass-court campaign, which he kicked off in s-Hertogenbosch last year. While it’s still uncertain, the injury sustained at Roland Garros may have impacted his current schedule.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Musetti’s participation in the upcoming grass-court season is uncertain. The Italian reached the semifinals of this year’s French Open but was forced to retire early in the fourth set due to a left thigh issue. Reports on Wednesday, Jun. 12, confirmed that Musetti sustained a Grade 1 adductor injury in his left leg.

Tommy Paul Has Yet To Win a Title in 2025
Paul has yet to win a title this season, and his absence from the Queen’s Club Championships only prolongs the wait. Still, the American has enjoyed several deep runs, with semifinal finishes in Adelaide, Dallas, Houston, and Rome.
In addition, Paul has reached the quarterfinals at both the Australian Open and the French Open this year. He currently holds a solid 25–9 win-loss record, and whether he returns in time for Wimbledon to build on that remains to be seen.
