Sebastian Korda is in sensational form at this year’s Miami Open. The American, who barely made the seeding cut, produced a dominant 6-0, 6-3 performance against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the round of 64 after a bye in the first round. On Sunday, March 22, he knocked out World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in a statement win.
Korda’s loved ones, including his father, Petr, and his fiancée, Ivana Nedvěd, were in the stands to witness the special moment. Ivana’s happiness was apparent when the couple reunited behind the scenes.

Korda, the 32nd seed at the Miami Open, entered the tournament after a tough loss to Alex de Minaur in the second round at Indian Wells. The American, who won the Delray Beach Open this season, started his journey in Florida with renewed hope.
For the most part in the first two sets against Alcaraz, Korda produced a clean performance. He, however, couldn’t capitalize on his 6-3, 5-3 lead despite serving for the match at 5-4. The 25-year-old was broken to love in the tenth game of the second set and failed to win another game thereafter.
He got a second bite at the cherry after breaking the World No. 1 in the seventh game of the final set. This time, the American held his two remaining service games, winning the match 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. His fiancée, Ivana, was overjoyed by the result.
“So proud of my man. Most deserving soul out there,” she wrote on Instagram.

Korda made his engagement to Ivana public in November 2025, just days before his sister, golf superstar Nelly Korda, announced hers. Ivana, who shares a tight bond with her partner’s family, expressed her excitement at planning both weddings.
The couple announced their relationship in 2021, and the latter has actively supported her partner during his matches ever since. Ivana, who was born in Italy, is the daughter of Pavel Nedvěd, a celebrated soccer star from the Czech Republic. She largely grew up in Italy, courtesy of her father’s sporting stints with Italian soccer clubs Lazio and Juventus.
“We started dating five years ago, and she’s just the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. And it couldn’t have been an easier choice than to ask her to marry me,” Korda recently told the ATP tour. “She always sees the bright side of everything.”
With the pair having a rich sporting history, the American player has also benefitted from his partner’s inputs on his life and career. “She always tells me how it is if I’m doing something wrong. She’s not scared to tell me the things that I’m doing wrong and things that I can do better. And it’s just a great mix. She really cares about me as a tennis player, but most importantly, as a human being as well.”
The Miami Open win was Korda’s second against Alcaraz. He previously beat the Spaniard at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters. The American, who is defending his quarterfinal run from last year, now awaits the winner of Karen Khachanov vs. Martin Landaluce for a place in the final eight.
