Emma Raducanu has been absent from the WTA Tour since last month due to illness. Amid her time away from the tour, the former US Open champion shared a heartwarming series of photos on social media, which drew reactions from players like Paula Badosa, Eva Lys, and others.

The last tournament Raducanu competed in was the 2026 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, during the North American hard-court swing. She was seeded 25th and began her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. In her opening match, she defeated qualifier Anastasia Zakharova with a score of 6-1, 6-3, and then lost to sixth seed Amanda Anisimova in the third round, with a score of 1-6, 1-6.
After Indian Wells, the former World No. 10 was scheduled to compete at the 2026 Miami Open but withdrew from the tournament due to post-viral symptoms stemming from the illness she contracted during the Middle East swing. Since then, she has not participated in any other tournaments.
Recently, Raducanu took to social media to share a series of pictures showcasing her “spring” activities during her absence from the WTA Tour. The photos included beautiful places she visited, moments with friends, her training sessions, and much more.

Reacting to Raducanu’s photodump, players like Badosa, Lys, Caroline Garcia, and Elena-Gabriela Ruse expressed their love and admiration for her, with Lys calling the Brit a “pretty woman.”

Looking ahead, Raducanu is expected to compete at the 2026 Italian Open, scheduled for May 5, 2026, to May 17, 2026. The tournament matches will be played on the outdoor clay courts at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy.
In addition to the former US Open champion, other players expected to compete in the WTA 1000 clay court tournament in Rome include Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Anisimova, Mirra Andreeva, Victoria Mboko, Karolína Muchová, defending champion Jasmine Paolini, and former champions Iga Świątek and Elina Svitolina, among others.
Last year, Raducanu began her campaign at the Italian Open by defeating qualifier Maya Jantchou with a score of 7-5, 6-7(1), 6-3 in the first round. She then eliminated lucky loser Jil Teichmann with a score of 6-2, 6-2 and Veronika Kudermetova with a score of 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Her run in the tournament ended in the fourth round when she lost 1-6, 2-6 to eventual runner-up and fourth seed Gauff.
