“We Wanted to Create a Free Environment for Players” – Garcia on Hosting a Podcast With Husband Duran

In 2024, Garcia and Duran launched their podcast, “Tennis Insider Club.” Here, the couple interviews players, coaches, and other tennis-related figures, delving into their personal journeys, passions, and careers.

In May 2025, during an interview with Tennis.com, Garcia reflected on her experience co-hosting the “Tennis Insider Club” with Duran. She admitted being “shy” when posing questions to their guests but mentioned that she is learning to overcome this challenge.

“I’m still very shy to ask questions. But I’m learning. It’s been a very good experience to be on the other side. We were in a good position to help players, coaches, athletes from all sports, to talk more freely about everything,” Garcia said.

The former World No. 4 explained that the motivation behind their podcast was to create a “free environment”  and a “safe space” for players to discuss any topics they wanted to speak about.

“We are both big fans of listening to podcasts, and we wanted to create a free environment, a safe place for them to share things and talk to fans about how they went through some difficult moments in their career,” she continued.

Garcia said that her experiences on the tour, combined with Duran’s point of view from outside the competitive arena, provide them with diverse perspectives that help them interview the players.

“We think what helps us is the combination of my experience on the tour and Borja’s experience off the tour. We have different points of view and so we ask different questions,” Garcia added.

On the tennis side of things, Garcia last competed at the 2025 French Open. In the singles event of the clay-court Grand Slam, she was eliminated in the first round by Bernarda Pera.

In the doubles event, Garcia teamed up with compatriot Diane Parry, receiving a wildcard entry into the main draw. The duo triumphed over the 16th-seeded pair of Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi in the first round, followed by a victory over Makoto Ninomiya and Tang Qianhui in the second round. Their run ended in the third round after the fourth-seeded team of Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider defeated them.
