There was more delight for Carlos Alcaraz in New York as he cheered Spain to victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the final in the 106th minute as Spain defeated Argentina to win the World Cup for the second time in history.
Carlos Alcaraz Cheers Spain to World Cup Triumph
Spain put on an impressive display in the World Cup final on Sunday, dominating from the first whistle to the last. La Roja created the better chances and came close to scoring on several occasions, but Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez stood firm for much of the contest.
However, Torres stepped up and came up with the decisive moment in the second half of extra time to give Spain a well-deserved win over Lionel Messi and Argentina.
Alcaraz arrived in New York to cheer for Spain on Sunday, having followed his country’s World Cup campaign while continuing his recovery from the wrist injury he suffered during the clay-court swing.
Sporting his $500,000-worth Rolex Rainbow Daytona, Alcaraz was in attendance at the New York New Jersey Stadium for the World Cup final and also took part in the pre-match ceremonies. He helped bring out the World Cup trophy in a Louis Vuitton briefcase alongside South Korean actress Jung Ho-Yeon.

The star-studded pre-match ceremony also featured performances from Tom Cruise, IShowSpeed, Robbie Williams, and Post Malone.
Alcaraz cheered passionately as Spain came close time and again before finally getting the winning goal in the second half of extra time. The 23-year-old celebrated Spain’s win with great fervor.

With the World Cup now in the books, Alcaraz will turn his focus to the North American swing. He is in the final stages of his rehab and is eyeing a return to the ATP Tour at the Cincinnati Open.
Down to third place on the ATP rankings, Alcaraz will be eager to make the most of the North American swing. A two-time champion at Flushing Meadows, he will be one of the favorites to win the US Open title.
However, Alcaraz is likely to face tough competition from World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, the recently crowned French Open champion Alexander Zverev, and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
