While Andreeva got a bye in the first round and won her second round match 7-6 (0), 6-1 against Magda Linette, Mboko won her matches against Marie Bouzková and Vera Zvonareva to reach the third round.

Andreeva vs Mboko Head-to-Head
The head-to-head is 1-0 in favor of Andreeva, with the Russian winning against Mboko 6-3, 6-1 at the final of the Adelaide International last month.

However, their respective records in Doha are not that good; reaching the third round this time is the best result for Andreeva at this event, and this is the first time Mboko has played in this tournament.
Last time these players met in the Adelaide final, Mboko was not at her physical best, so the match was a bit underwhelming. However, with the Canadian seemingly fit now, the upcoming match should be a much closer contest. Given her season stats and her win over Andreeva in their previous encounter, Andreeva goes in as the slight favorite to win the match.
